Angel Murchison reflects on connection to Dewey and Sharon Moede and For Gods Glory Alone Ministries.
I let a big chuckle out after reading the Cup yesterday and the various posts. God is amazing, just downright amazing. How he connects people all across this globe makes my heart leap and I get to be a part. I want you to stop for a moment and reflect on your connections and discover him bringing you in a sphere of influence with the gift he has given you to work in the kingdom for such a time as this. Step in, step up, step out all for his glory, You can do it. Journey with me for a few moments and I’ll share some of the highlights of my journey and I’m sure you’ll BELIEVE in Proverbs 16:9.
Several years ago I boarded an airplane from Maine headed to Albuquerque for a Christian writer’s conference in Glorieta, New Mexico. I had prayed and felt the draw and a deep desire to write and with confirmation of a prayer partner I stepped out. Nervously and without an abundance of funds I left behind the familiar and comfortable to attend for a few days at this writer’s conference. I had very limited resources well I might as well tell you all I had was $40.00. That step of obedience has made me friends and connections around the globe that are still unfolding to this day. On the cover of a brochure I so proudly keep in my writing notebook by CLASServices asks; Has God called YOU to be a Leader? Author? Speaker? I still look at the brochure and smile. I had written a book that I haven’t published yet and I wanted to see if there was any interest in such a book and was I indeed a writer or just a writer wannabe. I so wanted to find out as I love to write, but my writing was a source of another person’s jokes and snide remarks. I had no confidence in the gift I had been given. Anyway, I put out a request for a ride from the airport to the conference and prayed someone would respond. Sharon Siweck a published author in Chicken Soup for the Grandma’s Soul responded and offered to pick me up. We soon became friends and in 2009 Sharon traveled to Maine to speak at the University for Aglow International where I was serving as President of the Aglow Presque Isle Community Lighthouse (divine connection number one). I love to meet people and can make conversation with just about anyone and I honestly don’t remember exactly who I was chatting with one evening after dinner, but I was lagging behind for the conference. Shona Neff (another writer FGGAM) had her vehicle parked close by and offered me a ride to the meeting so I wouldn’t be too late (divine connection number two).
It was in July of 2009 I had felt a call to radio after stepping out to go to a local hospital and pray for a Doctor that had been diagnosed with cancer. I stepped into the corridor that day and the thought was so heavy on my mind to start a radio broadcast and call it Destiny Moments, I called the local radio station to help me with a demo. I remember this like it was just yesterday. The next day, I went on Facebook as I was thinking about deleting my account and Shona sent a message right at that moment to inquire if I was doing any writing. I replied with I just did a demo for talk-radio. Oh, why don’t you consider the airwaves here in New Mexico and let me introduce you to Dewey our station manager here at KKIM (connection number three). I was babysitting my grandson Mason that day in July in 2009 when Dewey called and picked up the broadcast Destiny Moments after listening to my demo. I began to have a heart connection with Dewey and Sharon and family and the people of New Mexico as I began to pray for them. I would write prayer letters and send with my broadcast as I knew prayer was needed around this globe. Sometimes Dewey would call and I would pray for the nations on his live radio broadcast. My heart had now enlarged for people all across this globe.
Almost two years ago now Dewey takes another step of obedience and is the founder of For God’s Glory Alone Ministries. I began to write for their ministry and it has strengthened me. I began to BELIEVE that God called me to write. I began to build confidence in Christ as I prayed over everything I would pen. I so wanted it to bring people to him (souls for the Kingdom) and empower others to step out in obedience whatever God may ask. Today, I can say yes God has called me to be a leader, author and speaker. Thank you to Florence Littauer for your obedience in setting up the writer’s conference I attended. I recently had the privilege of interviewing her on my radio broadcast. Florence is such a talented writer and an inspiration to the world. I also have interviewed Dewey Moede twice now on Destiny Moments here in Maine. Together we join our faith and Dewey prayed for the listeners here and around the globe. Thank you to Dewey and Sharon for your obedience and courage to step out and be the founders of this media ministry. Only in heaven will you both know the far reaching effects and the lives touched.
Readers, today I ask you the question What has God called You to be…a leader, a writer, a Sunday school teacher, a pastor, a speaker, a homemaker? Whatever God may have on your heart or mind, step out. Say yes and be obedient even if you have less than forty dollars. If you need an assignment ask him. He has a God assignment just for You. If you’re not sure what your gift is, ask him. He has gifted You. He has connections all across this globe for You. Can you BELIEVE?
Let’s pray: Lord thank you for the faithfulness of your people like Dewey and Sharon Moede. Thank you that if we all do our part together we can make a difference in our world. We join our faith from Maine to New Mexico and around this globe and say YES to whatever you may ask of us. We are not limited by resources or anything else. You are a limitless God and you order our footsteps right into Destiny. Connect us together and may many come to know you as Jesus lover of their soul this day, I pray. Lord use us to open doors for each other all across this globe today, I pray. It’s all for your glory God, your glory alone, Amen.
