Gov. Susana Martinez is Chair of the Republican Governor’s Association (RGA) and she is hosting her fellow governors at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort in Bernalillo, NM.
So Protest ABQ was there and hundreds of New Mexicans saw our signs and our peaceful protest presence! May New Mexicans join us and rise up to hold Governor Martinez accountable.
Bud Shaver, Executive Director of Protest ABQ issued the following statement: “New Mexico is ranked at the bottom of most lists regarding poverty, education and abortion restrictions. How New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez is leading the country’s Republican Governors Association boggles the mind. As New Mexicans, it is our hope that Governors coming here from out of state will influence Martinez in a positive way to better lead New Mexico. As her constituents, we must take a stand and protest her silence and inaction concerning New Mexico’s greatest injustice…New Mexico being known as the Abortion Capital of the Southwest and the Late-Term Abortion Capital of America.”
