There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. -Romans 8:1-5
What a passage of Scripture! NO condemnation to those who are IN Christ Jesus! Sin has no more control over a believer’s life even on a moment by moment basis. How is this possible you ask? Verse 3 tells us plainly. God sending his Own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.
True freedom comes, first through salvation in Christ. Christ alone. Experiencing freedom from sin on a daily basis comes through yielding oneself to the Spirit of God each new day. We do not experience revival in our lives and in the Church because christians are not willing to get off the comfort train (the life of luxury) and get on bended knee.
We need to ask God to break us and use us for His glory and praise. Too many christians are asking the question today, what is in it for me! Selfish, pleasure-seeking behavior has produced powerless christians and a weak church. True revival will come when there is Pain In The Offering. We need a desperation for God like never before.
Just one touch of Jesus’s garment and the women was made whole. Reach out today, my fellow christian, in desperation and touch his garment.
