covers Jesus’ tomb was empty
ad been placed in the tomb, Mary Magdalene went to visit the tomb. It was v=
ery early in the morning and it was still dark outside.
She saw that the stone had been removed from the front of the tomb and that=
the tomb was empty.
She ran to Peter to inform him what she had seen. Then, Peter and another A=
postle, John, ran to the tomb to see for themselves. The body of Jesus was =
gone and the only thing left behind was the cloth that was used to wrap his=
body for the burial. The Apostles were confused, they did not understand w=
hat was happening. How could the tomb be empty? Where was the body of=
Jesus?
Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene
their homes. But Mary Magdalene remained by the tomb, crying. Then she turn=
ed and saw a man who asked her why she was crying. Mary Magdalene soon real=
ized that the man who was talking to her was Jesus Christ. Jesus had risen =
from death. Mary Magdalene was the first person to see the resurrected Jesu=
s.
Resurrection appearances
Christ was the beginning of Christianity. If Christ had not been resurrect=
ed and seen by many people (more than 500), Christianity would not exist to=
day. Jesus made twelve appearances after his resurrection:
1. His first appearance was to Mary Magdalene, on that early Su=
nday morning. (Mark 16:9; John 20:10-18).
2. Jesus appeared to the women returning from the tomb. (Matthe=
w 28:9-10).
3. Jesus appeared to two disciples on the road to Emmaus. (Luke=
24:13-32; Mark 16:12-13).
4. He appeared to Peter in Jerusalem. (Luke 24:34; 1 Corinthian=
s 15:5).
5. He appeared to his disciples and other followers, and also a=
second time to the two men from Emmaus, in a locked room in Jerusalem. The=
apostle Thomas wasn’t there at that time. (Luke 24:36-43; John 20:19-23).
6. A week later, Jesus again appeared to his disciples behind l=
ocked doors, and this time Thomas was present. (John 20:24-29).
7. Jesus appeared to seven of his disciples on the shore of the=
Sea of Galilee. (John 21:1-24).
8. Jesus was seen by 500 believers at one time. (1 Corinthians =
15:6).
9. He appeared to James. (1 Corinthians 15:7).
10. He appeared to eleven disciples on a mountain in Galilee. (=
Matt. 28:18-20).
11. He walked with his disciples along the road to Bethany, on =
the Mount of Olives, and then ascended into Heaven. (Luke 24:50-53).
12. He was seen by Paul on the road to Damascus. (Acts 9:3-6; 1=
Corinthians 15:8).
Jesus appears before Thomas
at Jesus had risen from death, that he had been resurrected. After all, the=
Romans drove nails through Jesus’ hands and feet and later pierced his sid=
e with a spear to make sure he was dead. And now there were people claiming=
to have seen Jesus alive again. The Apostle named Thomas had doubts, as ex=
plained in John 20:24-29 (NIV translation):
Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the discip=
les when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lor=
d!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put =
my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not b=
elieve it.”
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with the=
m. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, =
“Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my =
hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and belie=
ve.”
Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you=
have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and y=
et have believed.”
The significance of the resurrection
written by a disciple named Paul, the 15th chapter of this book explains th=
e significance of the resurrection of Jesus. It says that Jesus died for ou=
r sins. (see 1 Corinthians 15:3). It also says that our faith would be mean=
ingless if there had been no resurrection (see 1 Corinthians 15:17). And it=
proclaims that Jesus was resurrected. (see 1 Corinthians 15:20). Paul is o=
ne of the people who saw Jesus after the resurrection.
The Great Commission
esus met with his disciples on a mountain in Galilee and gave them a comman=
d to go out and evangelize to all people:
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth=
has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, bapt=
izing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,=
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am=
with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:16-20 NIV).=
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus mentions the triune nature of God when he speaks of=
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is referred to as the “holy=
trinity” and also as the “triune nature of God,” meaning that God is three=
-in-one. Christians believe in one God – one God who is God the Father, God=
the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus ascends into Heaven

After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven an=
d he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached=
everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the si=

The return of Jesus
s that Jesus will return in the future to judge the living and the dead and=
to establish eternal peace.
There are several verses that refer to Jesus’ return, including Matthew 16:=
24-28, Matthew 24, Matthew 25:31-46, Mark 8:34-9:1, Mark 13, Luke 9:23-27, =
Luke 17:20-37, Luke 21:5-38; John 6:39-40, and John 14:3.
In Matthew 16:27, Jesus is quoted as saying that the “Son of Man is going t=
o come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each =
person according to what he has done.”
The book of Matthew, chapter 24, describes a series of signs that will occu=
r before his return. We are told that all of these signs will manifest them=
selves during the span of a single generation: “This generation will not pa=
ss away until all these things have taken place” (Matthew 24:34).
But we don’t know which generation that will be.
In Mark 13:32, we are told that “No one knows about that day or hour, not e=
ven the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
There has been a great deal of speculation as to whether we are presently l=
iving in the generation that will witness all of the signs described in Mat=
thew 24. Many people have tried to predict when Jesus will return only to b=
e proven wrong. The Bible warns us not to worry and reminds us to be prepar=
ed, spiritually. For believers, Jesus’ return will be a glorious event.

THE SHADOW OF HEAVENLY THINGS Revealing the Body of Messiah In the Tabernac=
le, I would like to share Brad=E2=80=99s closing conversation with you as w=
e observe the Feast of Passover followed by my thoughts. Baruch Atah Adonai=

means of the tabernacle. The way of salvation is pictured by seven pieces =
of furniture all placed in a specific order as one approaches the presence =
of YHWH. There are two items in the court, a shadow of the physical body. T=
hese are the brazen altar =E2=80=93 the place of =E2=80=9Cwhole=E2=80=9D sa=
crifice [body, soul, spiri=
t]; the laver =E2=80=93 the washing of the water of the word to cleanses=
your walk [daily]. Then we enter the Holy Place and see t=
hree details. The Holy Place symbolizes our =E2=80=9Cminds=E2=80=9D and so =
contains two pictures of Torah which =E2=80=9Crenews our minds=E2=80=9D, an=
d is the precursor for =E2=80=9Cphysical and behavioral=E2=80=9D transforma=
tion. The menorah =E2=80=93 the light of the world; and the table of showbr=
ead =E2=80=93 the life sustaining bread of life. The last detail before ent=
ering the Most Holy Place is the golden altar =E2=80=93 the picture of pray=
er. The final destination contains the ark of the testimony and the mercy s=
eat. The ark, containing the life-giving word of YHWH, is protected and wat=
ched over by His enduring mercy. Is this not the process that we go through=
in order to be delivered from death? It is our court, or our body, that fi=
rst received the words of life. The gospel must be preached and we must hav=
e an ear to hear. Then our minds assimilate the material and we make a deci=
sion either to trust what we have heard or reject what we have heard. When =
our ears have heard and our minds have responded, we ask or pray and YHWH a=
lways answers with a resounding =E2=80=9CI will.=E2=80=9D YHWH then places =
His testimony and mercy in our hearts, or our spirit, and it becomes renewe=
d and sanctified. Now the process of =E2=80=9Cgrowth=E2=80=9D takes place i=
n the way YHWH originally designed the tabernacle, from the inside out. The=
way of salvation is from the outside in. The way of =E2=80=9Cgrowth=E2=80=
=9D and =E2=80=9Cmaturity=E2=80=9D is from the inside out. If we have the t=
estimony of YHWH within us, then our minds take their instruction from the =
word of YHWH and not the world or any other source. If we have not His word=
in us, then our minds must take their instruction from somewhere else. Onc=
e the mind has been renewed and transformed then our bodies must obey. If I=
have =E2=80=9Cmade up my mind=E2=80=9D to go swimming, my body cannot argu=
e about it. If you truly believe, then you will truly do. If you are not do=
ing, then you are not truly believing.
e way from the ark of the testimony to the eastern gate. Yeshua was faithfu=
l and true witness in Hitgalut (Revelation) 3:14. He restored the true witn=
ess of the ark of the covenant to His people. His BLOOD was placed upon the=
horns of the altar of incense, and His ashes scattered upon the altar to b=
e a sweet, acceptable fragrance unto YHWH on our behalf (Ephesians 5:2, 2 C=
orinthians 2:15). He taught us how to pray at the altar in Mattiyahu (Matth=
ew) 6:9-13. He was and is our menorah as He proclaimed in Yochanan (John) 8=
:12 that He was the light of the world. Then He said to you and me in Matti=
tyahu 5:14, =E2=80=9CYe are the light of the world.=E2=80=9D He is the Word=
of YHWH, the Living Torah, and our sustenance in this world, as He is the =
Bread of Life (John 6:32-33). He became the laver when He washed the discip=
les feet in John 13:1-10. Then came His final act of His walk from the ark =
to the altar. He finishes by offering Himself wholly on a tree of judgment.=

no less!
