Dear Family of our Lord of Jesus,

Thank you my Dear Friends for stopping by for a CUP!

Love to read the Word and hear the Lord

Cup was SUPER!

On reading Psalms & Proverbs!

I take the date example today is March 5. So I read Psalm 5 then I add 30
(Days in a month) & read 35; 65; 95 & 125 plus proverbs 5. Helps me remember where I’m reading. Tomorrow it’s psalm 6; 36; 96; & 126. You get the idea. I save psalm 119 for 31st day of month it has 176 verses!

Don’t give in! Don’t give up! NO compromise!

Praying 4 U!

Luv ya! Pastor Leonard

Hi Dewey…I’ve really been reflecting on a past Dewey’s Cup and using the word “luck”. I, too, do not believe in “luck” and understand the derivative of the word. The Lord really spoke to me and put on my heart to use the term “Good Blessings” instead of “Good Luck”…that’s what I aspire to do…give Him glory! The simplest things can make a huge difference…Love to you, Sharon, and your doggies. Leslie Mouser

Leslie also said this, Your on God’s timeline not your own! AMEN!

Before I go into today’s lesson I learned yesterday from my friend Franz Boelter of the passing of John Michalau,he had been fighting an illness for 4 years,,,,,,,,,,,My friend Franz who grew up just up the road from me in Windom on River Road posted this about John…….

We lost one of the best men I know on Sunday morning. John Michelau died after struggling with illness over the past four years. Please pray for his wife Kathy and daughters Sophie and Abbey. His funeral is Thursday night, March 7, at 7:00 at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie with visitation an hour before the service. The church address is 6630 Shady Oak Road in Eden Prairie. Albin Chapel in Eden Prairie is doing the arrangements. Memorials can be given to the family, Bethany Academy, or Timber Bay. We’re going to miss you a ton, great friend, but I’m so glad that you are now with the Lord and free of your pain and frustrations. God bless you, John! You influenced my life and others so much

I know most of you did not know John, but he is exactly what we need more of! A fruit Tree………a HUGE fruit tree for the Kingdom…….here is just one of the letters written in memory of John who was such a Godly man, husband, father, teacher and coach.

I feel lucky to have had such a kind, caring, funny and fun-loving teacher, coach, and friend through my high school years. He was for me a model of God fearing manliness during an impressionable time of life. I remember his infectious laugh like it was yesterday. I am so very sorry for your loss.

There was no luck in the life of John, his life was led by the Lord….it was the work of the Lord in his life, because John turned his life over to our Father. John carried with him the favor of God and blessed many in his life, let it be said the same of us!

Mark Twain said live your life so that at your funeral even the undertaker will cry! We write our own obituary in the way we live our life!

Men like John fear God, Men and Women who fear God have nothing to hide! Those of us who fear God do not want to be away from God. Living with God involves no fear, in fact fear is sin. We all at times get a bit fearful or sometimes fear comes into us very strongly because we are tired, wore down and spiritual warfare occurs. But we have God with us.

In these day’s it is AWESOME to read the testimony’s about the life of people like John Michelau, what an example for us all!

For all my Windom friends I will have a devotional column in the Citizen https://www.windomnews.com this week about being a Fruit Tree for the Kingdom.

I am thankful for all the comments about yesterday’s CUP and getting word that the CUP is forwarded by many of you to help bring others into the Kingdom! It’s just absolutely amazing what is happening with the Ministry of FGGAM! We thank God for what HE is doing through FGGAM!

It’s truly amazing, a Spiritual high when you get to the the point in your life where it’s all about GOD! Nothing but GOD and HIS ways!

Paul Dokken said yesterday’s CUP reminded him of what Isaiah 65:1 says…………..

” I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, “here am I, here am I.”

What God showed me yesterday through my talk with Paul and reading Isaiah 65:1 and through the phone call’s of others yesterday is that many of you forwarding the CUP to others that do not have a close personal relationship with our Lord you are proclaiming the Word of God as in Isaiah 65:1. PRAISE GOD!

What does it mean to be lucky?

The dictionary describes luck as random, when things happen by chance. Things do seem to happen by chance sometimes…
The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favour to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.
Ecclesiastes 9:11

An athlete can fall during a race, an investor can loose their money when a business fails, a friend can be diagnosed with cancer, while a criminal may escape without being punished.
Equally, good things can happen; people fall in love, cures for diseases are discovered, a job application is successful – but is it all really just luck? Or, is God really in control?
Good luck
God doesn’t promise us good luck, in fact the word luck is never mentioned in the Bible. There are no random or chance happenings with God in control. God has a purpose for this world and there is no event in our lives that is not in some way a part of that plan.
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. Isaiah 45:7

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28-29

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Proverbs 15:3

The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.Proverbs 16:33
Perhaps instead of wishing our friends “good luck” it would be much better to say “God bless you”

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, the Lord turn His face towards you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26

Success
When we wish someone “good luck” don’t we really mean that we wish them success, happiness, good health, happy families, contentment and other good things?
That may not seem like a bad thing at all, but it is so easy to let money be the top priority in our lives…

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this, or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” James 4:13

We are surrounded by pressure to achieve success, to work harder, earn more money, buy a bigger house, a newer car…

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 1 Timothy 6:9

God wants us to trust in Him, not in money;

Whoever trusts in his riches will fall but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf. Proverbs 11:28

The LORD makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set the world upon them. He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness. For by strength no man shall prevail. 1 Samuel 2:7-9

If we trust in God and try to follow His ways …

God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:19

who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us… Ephesians 3:20

God’s word, the Bible, teaches us His way to find happiness.

Do not let this Book of the Law (Bible) depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful wherever you go. Joshua 1:8

Gambling
You may know of people who have lost their homes or their fortunes or their families by gambling, Gambling seems to offer a way to get money quickly and easily but the Bible offers good advice;

Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow. Proverbs 13:11

The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:10

A faithful man will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished. Proverbs 28:20
Starting over
Jesus told a parable about a rich young man who gambled away all his inheritance and everything that he had. He was so desperate that he found a job feeding pigs and so hungry that he would eat some of the pigs food. You can read about it in Luke 15:11-32.
The young man was afraid to go back to his father’s house but when he did he was welcomed with open arms. God is like the young man’s father, He’s waiting for us to get our priorities right, and willing to forgive us our mistakes if we repent.

Before I get to the final story of of the day…………..here are a couple of pictures for you…….first one is son Lars took this picture waiting for the train in Chicago late yesterday afternoon as the blizzard moved in…….and then a FUNNY BONE!

106-YEAR-OLD MASS. MAN GETS HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA

You are here

BEVERLY, Mass. (AP) — Fred Butler was married for 65 years, raised five children, served in the Army during World War II and worked for years for the local water department, but the fact he never earned a high school diploma always bothered him.
Not anymore.
The 106-year-old was awarded his honorary diploma Monday during an emotional ceremony attended by school officials, state lawmakers and Beverly Mayor Bill Scanlon.
“I thank everybody who is responsible for this,” he said, wearing a mortar board hat and tassel and holding the prized document in his hands. “I certainly appreciate it.”
Butler dropped out of school before the ninth-grade to accept a full-time job at a print shop to support his mother and five younger siblings.
Daughter-in-law Cathy Butler says he regretted dropping out and always emphasized the importance of education to his children and grandchildren.
A grandson, Mike Calabro, said Butler gave him $5 for every A on his report card.
Cathy Butler launched the effort to get her father-in-law his diploma as a way to raise his spirits following the death of his wife, Ruth, last year.
Fred Butler’s only concern was that he hadn’t earned it.
Scanlon put that concern to rest. “It’s a long time to wait for your diploma,” Scanlon said, “but you’ve obviously earned it very well.”
