Mexico, Day 3
Day 3 started out pretty well. The tough part was saying good-bye to Lauri’s brother Jon and niece Nikki. It was great having them visit. Jon certainly brought some laughs!
I had been noticing that Lauri’s arms were swelling, along with some edema in her legs. Also, her breathing became more labored and her talking became even more difficult for her. She has become so dissapointed with her inability to communicate. But the breathing was concerning me quite a bit as well.
I mentioned these things to the lead doctor, Dr. Contrares. He said they’d back off on the amount of IV fluids. He said that would help with her breathing, which it did. Unfortunately it took several hours during which time Lauri became very labored with her breathing. Now finally Lauri is resting comfortably.
Dr. Contrares also is hopeful that dumping the extra fluids can help take the swelling down in her brain too, allowing her to talk better again. So, we’re anxious to see that happen!
All the treatments are administered in IVs. They include Vit. C, ozone, laetrile, and a couple of things I still haven’t figured out. When I look at the bottles, of course they’re written in Spanish!
The language barrier is getting easier. Lauri’s daytime nurse can speak adequate English. That’s so helpful. She also does a super job with Lauri, and even gave her a bath today, including shampooing her hair.
The other big part of the whole process is learning to eat properly. I haven’t had the time to figure out this diet yet, but it’s probably similar to the Hallelujah Diet. I’ll learn more later.
I’m so anxious to see what God has in store for Lauri and I. We both are absolutely convinced that God lead us here. We believe that if He lead us here, he has big plans for us! Lauri is going to get well, and life will never be the same again!!
Thanks for all your continued prayers!
I love you Lauri! I’m so proud of you! You’re my everything!
We continue to pray for healing for Lauri and Keith.they are one!
For this cause we bow our knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. That He would grant us, according to the riches of His glory to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in our hearts by faith.Amen and Amen!
This devotional today by Adrian Rogers really hit home with me praying for Lauri and Keith………
Shut the Devil’s Mouth
BIBLE MEDITATION:
“When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.”
John 11:4
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
The devil’s charge against Job was that Job didn’t really love God—that the only reason Job served God was that God had bribed him. God said, “To prove He loves me, Satan, you can take anything from him but his life.” Job continued to serve the Lord and said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him…” (Job 13:15). Isn’t that great?
God often gets the glory through our trials. There are servants of God today, special people who’ve been chosen of God to shut the devil’s mouth by saying, “Though I do not have physical health or a lot of this world’s goods, I love my God. Jesus Christ is real to me, and Jesus Christ is enough for me.”
Sometimes sickness may glorify God. Andrew Murray, a dear old saint, wrote:
“In times of trouble the trusting child of God may say, ‘First He brought me here, it is by His will that I’m in this great place. Next, He will keep me here in His love and give me grace in this trial to behave as His child. Then He will make the trial a blessing, teaching me the lessons He intends for me to learn and working in the grace He means to bestow. And in His good time He can bring me out again. How and when—He knows.’”
ACTION POINT:
So many people have an “if” faith: “Lord, if you do this…” But what you need is a “though” faith. “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” And that shuts the mouth of the devil!
April 11, 2013. It is time for the prophets to prepare the way for Jesus. You have a calling and commission to declare the word and revelation of God. You are His mouthpiece. He anoints your spirit and tongue. The world about you is dying to hear about Jesus who saves, heals and delivers. Declare Him as the mighty King who rules. You have been in training since you received Christ as Savior. Now is the time to go forth in power. Prepare the way for the Lord to come where you are.
Matthew 11:9-10 (NKJV) “But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet. For this is he of whom it is written: ‘Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.'” Ras Robinson
April 11, 2013. A high learning curve is ahead. I am pleased that you are on this path. Because you are, the benefits will eventually be obvious. Not so much at first, but the longer you stay on the path the more evident they will become. Don’t let your mind navigate to the “what ifs” and don’t bolt and run. If you will stay the course you will see blessings overtake blessings. Yes there will be a test. Most always there is a test, but continue trusting Me and walk the narrow way.
Matthew 7:13-14 (NASB) ” Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Bev Robinson
