Let us Praise God together this day!

Dear family of our =
Lord Jesus Christ,
God Bless you and yours forever and ever! What did you hear from th=
e Lord yesterday? After I read the CUP yesterday, I treasure our relationsh=
ip even more. Take your shoes off now and stay awhile here at the CUP and p=
ray over the writings today.
C. S. Lewis =
said this about friendship…………
=E2=80=9CIn friend=
ship=E2=80=A6we think we have chosen our peers. In reality a few years=E2=
=80=99 difference in the dates of our births, a few more miles between cert=
ain houses, the choice of one university instead of another=E2=80=A6the acc=
ident of a topic being raised or not raised at a first meeting=E2=80=93any =
of these chances might have kept us apart. But, for a Christian, there are,=
strictly speaking no chances. A secret master of ceremonies has been at wo=
rk. Christ, who said to the disciples, =E2=80=9CYe have not chosen me, but =
I have chosen you,=E2=80=9D can truly say to every group of Christian frien=
ds, =E2=80=9CYe have not chosen one another but I have chosen you for one a=
nother.=E2=80=9D The friendship is not a reward for our discriminating and =
good taste in finding one another out. It is the instrument by which God re=
veals to each of us the beauties of others.=E2=80=9D

Please go back to yesterday’s CUP at this ti=
me and read more on Godly friendship.
Godly friendship’s&nbs=
p;can kill a lot of evil in this world we live in. Remember satan does not =
like Godly friendship’s! Put on the Armour of God each day.

April 3, 2013. Jesus has water w=
e know not of. The water Jesus gives causes the believer never to thirst ag=
ain. Rather, that water becomes a forever river that flows from the throne =
of God within the believer’s heart. The woman lived in a dry, dusty an=
d harsh city near Jacob’s well. She was so moved by the words of Jesus=
that she believed. She then led the men of her city to also believe. &nbsp=
;This living water can be yours every day as well. Are you dry and thirsty?=
Believe as she did.

John 4:13-14 (NASB) “But whoever drinks of the water that I will gi=
ve him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become i=
n him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” Ras Robin=

Alan played Bubba in the TV series In The =
Heat Of the Night. Alan was a great help in our Lord to Actor Carol O’Conne=
r in his relationship with Jesus and also supported Carol after the death o=
f O’Conners son Hugh.
He now makes Christian movies. WOW! They are dynamite! I encourage you to g=
oogle Alan’s name and watch his movies and support him and
his wife in prayer as they go forth spreading the messag=
e of our Lord.

More emails………….
Th=
ank you once again for THE Cup !!!
   Everyday, the m=
ore I read, the more I learn, and even better, the more I enjoy…

I have a personal situation I’d like to ask your advice on…   W=
hile considering if I should call you in person or ask via email such as th=
is I got the ‘very distinct feeling’ that I should do this in electronic fo=
rm so it could be shared with others, such as in THE Cup, as it may apply t=
o many of our fellow Brothers & Sisters in today’s environment & I =
have NO doubt you have the answer and/or direction I need…   To=
follow on that thought, maybe it might be a good idea if this type of help=
ful communication were provided (like a question & answer section, or “=
Dear Dewey”), in The Cup or on the web site in the future for all of us to =
share with each other…

Now my situation/question for you that you are more than welcome to share w=
ith all:

As you are well aware, recently YOU brought the LORD bac=
k into my life and I couldn’t be happier.  Also, as you well know, I b=
ecame unemployed a few months ago and am in search of employment.  Due=
to physical disabilities I have applied for Social Security Disability sin=
ce the limitations I have prevent me from a high number of opportunities an=
d not many want to hire someone at 60 anymore not realizing the dedication =
and reliability most of us older folks offer in their employment.  In =
a position of just having brought the LORD back into my life I still have A=
LOT of education I need to catch up on.  My understanding is to serve=
the LORD and he will provide and that I shouldn’t be greedy for material p=
ossessions.  This raises a ‘confusion’ for me as I don’t know if I sho=
uld pray for help in my search for a limited income.  I search not for=
financial ‘riches’.  I am only in search for a limited amount of inco=
me to sustain my household and loved ones.  Is it wrong of me to pray =
for help with employment or is this praying for material or earthly things =
that I shouldn’t be praying for?  Don’t want to pray out of ‘greed’ bu=
t my family is my responsibility and don’t think that is ‘greed’.  I a=
ctually pray that I might find work which would allow me income in excess o=
f what I’m allowed under SS disability, (presuming I even get it), and that=
the pay structure could be manipulated to allow the excess be donated to s=
uch things as FGGAM and my Church in their work for “HIM”.  Is this wr=
ong ?  I don’t think I’m praying out of greed but rather for “HIS” hel=
p in fulfilling my responsibilities to the family I promised to provide for=
.  HELP !

Here is my reply to Brother Rick………..

Rick, Ex=
cellent suggestion!
I have been praying for over an hour for Go=
d to give me the words to speak to you.
here is how we should pray……
Lord thank you for my life.
I hold onto all your promises in your Word.=
Lord, I pray for a good Godly job that You =
will lead me to. I turn this job search over to you.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the pl=
ans I have for you declares the Lord=
plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a=
future.

I turn this job search over to YOU, Go=
d Almighty, I give it all to you.

I will have an attentive ear and spiri=
t to hear you call me to my next job.

In the name of Jesus, AMEN! Thank=
YOU LORD!

Now we wait…Psalm 46:10 Be still and=
wait upon the Lord

If you have a question for me, just em=
ail it and I will answer you as the Lord leads, this is not of me, but of G=
od. I will never post your question without your permission.

Right now we pray fo=
r Jobs for Gretchen,

 Stephanie, Natasha, and Rick

For all those looking for work Lord, =
we pray for a Godly job.

We pray for safe travel for Wannel Pate to go see Bra=
ndy and George who just moved.

We pray for the family that has had their loved one go back to drugs.

We continue to pray for Joseph who is dealing with much emotional hurt from=
childhood.

We pray for the Mark Doering family in the passing of their Mother. We rejo=
ice in her going to heaven and we pray for strength and peace for the famil=
y here on earth! AMEN!

Please pray for 11 year old Jojola Baca missing since Monday after school

in Albuquerque.

One of the blessings that I have had in my life is getting to know Pastor L=
eonard Navarre=
and many folks at Valley View Christian Church in Edgewood. Coming up on Ap=
ril 18thI will=
have the blessing to teach their Men’s Bible study! This is the group of m=
en whodonated =
the car window’s to daughter Gretchen after her’s were smashed out. Leonard=
has poured so =
much love and Godly knowledge into me, it is impossible to put it intowords. So=
many in this congregation have dome the same to FGGAM. They a=
re always
o=
utside the walls of the Church helping so many in the Edgewood area. I told=
Leonard
wh=
en they opened the new addition it would not be long before they would have=
to build
o=
n again. For those of you not from New Mexico, Edgewood has a population of=
3,735.
Valley View is a shining light for all of us to learn from, i=
t is drawing
people into theKingdom. This Church has the favor of God up=
on it. I post a letter Lead Pastor
Brandon Shaffer sent to his flock=
yesterday……..read it and be
encouraged. Th=
eChurch is not dead in America, We just =
have to make su=
re that our Church’s are in
the Will of God and our Preaching His Wor=
d and not our’s, that we are not
compromisingthe Word of God. Pastor’s need to make sure they are hearing God and n=
ot themselves.
I could do a whole seminar on this! LOL LOL As I have =
seen in my last 40 years
Churches in small towns like Edgewood flouri=
sh in the Lord and Churches struggle
and fail in small and large t=
owns. I see Churches in large Cities
flourish and also fail. When I go to Preach or visit a Church I can feel right away in the Hol=
y Spirit where
a Church is at in it’s relationship to the Lord. Anoth=
er Church in a small Town, First
Baptist in Magdalena lead by Pastor =
Paul Holt is on fore for our Lord! WOW! In
Albuquerque when I am out=
and about, like most everyday I hear so many Godly
things about Legacy Church, Pastor Derek told me=
yesterday 867 water baptisms and 12,635 total attendance over Easter weekend! Legacy =
Church reaches beyond it’swalls and into the community and state. If you would like to share about y=
our Churchplease send me =
an email and we will post it! For God’s Glory Alone!!!!!!!!!!!! AMEN!!!!!!!=
!!!

Dear Valley View Family,

I intended to write=
this yesterday but my mind was mush after such an amazing Easter.  If=
you weren’t here, you missed an absolutely awesome experience.

As I’ve t=
hought about Easter @ Valley View over the last few days I have really aske=
d =E2=80=9Cwhat were the big wins?=E2=80=9D Let me share a few.

#1: Transform=
ation.
Our Easter Services were capped =
off by watching a dad baptize his daughter.  Personally, that is one o=
f my greatest joys.  But it tells me that true transformation is ongoi=
ng and happens in homes, marriages, workplaces & communities.

#2: The Cro=
wd.
This last Sunday 804 people worship=
ped with Valley View Christian Church.  By far that is largest number =
of people we have ever had.  What inspires me is that the 800 number c=
ould become normal very soon.  That means more transformed lives for J=
esus on an ongoing basis.

=
#3: Volunteers & Staff. I am so thankful for the number of people from Valley View who=
stepped up this weekend to make Sunday possible.  There are really to=
o many to thank individually.  But for those of you who served in some=
way, “THANK YOU!”  I’ve always said the best thing we have to offer a=
fter Jesus is our people.

=
#4: Sacrifice. =
When we’re crowded inside the parking lot is also crowded.  We asked t=
hose who were able to park on the back lot.  By the time I arrived Sun=
day morning there were more parked on that lot than anywhere else.  I =
know it was small, but it shows me that y’all love those who are yet to fin=
d Jesus or call Valley View home enough to walk a little farther.

#5: Extendi=
ng Invitations.
The ‘sweet spot’ of Sun=
day for me was the number of people I met that told me they were here becau=
se someone invited them.  I truly believe that ministries that thrive =
and grow do so because people invited their friends, relatives and co-worke=
rs to church.  Meeting people who were invited by people was the highl=
ight of my day.

Aside of the wins of Easter I also realize that we still have w=
ork to do for Jesus.  There are still lives to be saved.  Marriag=
es still need to be repaired.  So yesterday I started preparing for th=
is coming Sunday.  Even though Jesus has risen from the grave, we stil=
l live in a broken world.  Lives, homes and marriages are in shambles.=
The world is in turmoil politically.  Even worse, people are dy=
ing each day looking at a Christ-less eternity.

Therefore, I’m done looking back.  Instead, I’m focused now on ou=
r ministry of helping people take NextSteps on their journey with Jesus.&nb=
sp; Right now I’m working on a message that will lay the groundwork for the=
next month.  Sunday, we are beginning a new message series calledREBUILDING A BROKEN CULTURE, which is based on the book of Nehemiah.  In Nehemiah,=
the servant of God discovered that nearly everything in Jerusalem was brok=
en.  However, what we find is that Nehemiah not only rebuilds the wall=
s around Jerusalem, he guides people to rebuild their lives for God.

I be=
lieve the message of Nehemiah is timely for today.  I hope and pray th=
at you will join us Sunday (& every Sunday) as we look at what we can d=
o to help people rebuild their lives.

&nbsp=
;

Thanks for being such an awesome church.

One of the things the Lord has us do at FGGAM is =
connect people with a Church and Pastor. If you are looking for a Church an=
d to have a relationship with a Pastor and the Body of Christ, just contact=
me. We are doing this every week, guiding people back to the Church. We do=
it through prayer.
We are so blessed this morning to=
have Darlene Quiring from one of my favorite places in the World, Mt. Lake=

Minnesota with us..she writes on the Holy Spir=
it……..may the Holy Spirit move in you as you read……………
=
=
=
The Holy Spirit is Love. The Holy Spirit is Life. The Holy Spirit… is God=
“The Spirit of God made me and the breath of th=
e Almighty has given me life.” ( Job 33:4)
 God is Spirit. The thir=
d person of the Trinity, God Himself, the Spirit of Christ. The Holy Spirit=
is our breath, our Life, the reason for our existence. He is Love. He is a=
ctive. Well, what does He do? He changes us. He transforms us. He teaches u=
s. He brings us into a deeper relationship with God. Being God He can do th=
is. He is Himself God, and God is Love. When we encounter the Holy Spirit i=
n our lives, we encounter God’s Love. Put another way, when we encounter Go=
d’s Love we encounter God’s Spirit. Experiencing this, by default, changes =
us.

Think about how afraid the apostles=
were after Jesus died. They stayed in the upper room hiding, afraid they w=
ould be killed too because they were followers of Christ. The Holy Spirit c=
omes and everything changes. Now they are fearless, bold, unafraid. They no=
w not only are brave enough to speak to the world about Christ, they also k=
now what to say. The Holy Spirit has given them the words, the passion, the=
ability and the means to spread the good news of Jesus’ life and death and=
resurrection. Literally, just a few minutes earlier these same men were af=
raid of their own shadow. Talk about power. This same power, this same Spir=
it is still here today. He’s not a different Holy Spirit. He’s the same one=
that the apostle’s received at Pentecost. This same Spirit that raised Chr=
ist from the dead lives within us. He is no less powerful in us. Do you rea=
lly believe that? Or do you perhaps think Jesus had a different Spirit than=
we do? He didn’t. There is only One Holy Spirit. There is only One God and=
He’s here to help us overcome our fears too and give us a new passion for =
living His Life.

This Spirit that gave =
Jesus life is the same Spirit that gives us life. But too often, we don’t a=
sk for this life. We ignore Him. We wonder why it feels like God doesn’t he=
lp us but we don’t ask Him too. God acts when we use our free will to invit=
e Him into our lives but we don’t do it. Why not? After all as it says in G=
alatians 5:22-23, “
The fruit of the Spirit is love, jo=
y, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and sel=
f-control.”
Aren’t we all looking for these things? This is not only wha=
t the Holy Spirit desires to give us, this is what He Himself is like. God =
gives us Himself, so that means He is loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, ki=
nd, generous, faithful, gentle, and has control. He sounds great but we see=
m to avoid Him at all costs. We just don’t want God in our lives when He’s =
exactly what our lives were created for.

I once heard the Holy Spirit described in comparison to chocolate milk =
(bear with me a minute). When making a glass of chocolate milk – the chocol=
ate is on the bottom – it’s there, truly and fully and completely, but it’s=
not being utilized to its full potential until it is stirred up. Once it i=
s shaken up, everything changes.  He’s there, truly and fully and comp=
letely, but we don’t utilize His gifts as we ought to. Sometimes we even fo=
rget that we have received Him. When we pray to God to unleash His Love wit=
hin us, everything changes.

Yes the Hol=
y Spirit may shake things up in your life but it’s all good. When we come t=
o know God in this personal way we realize that it’s
always good. The Holy Spirit is to be experienced. Just like t=
he glass of chocolate milk, we don’t make it to just stare at it. We are ca=
lled to drink it, to enjoy it, to be nourished by it. The Spirit of God is =
not chocolate milk. The Spirit of God is Life itself – true Life, everlasti=
ng Life! In the Holy Spirit we “live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:=
28), and we are called to live His Life to the full, not the way the world =
calls us to, but the way the Spirit does, guiding us to a Life of inner pea=
ce. We go through the routine of life, figuring we are living as Christians=
when really – there is so much more!

S=
o let’s not leave the Spirit sitting around at the bottom of our lives. Let=
‘s make Him a priority, let’s stir Him up, even put Him first in our lives.=
Let’s ask God for this grace. Let’s give everything to the One who gave us=
everything – and still does today. God can breathe new life into us and gi=
ve us a new enthusiasm. A fearless and powerful life of Love awaits us. Let=
‘s shake it up and let God release His Spirit into our lives in a New Way, =
Today.
Thank you for sharing Darlene! God Bless you and yours!=
