Santa Fe Mayor David Coss and the Santa Fe City Council along with County Clerk’s across the state await word from NM Attorney General Gary King where he stands on same-sex marriage. The Attorney General will rule if such unions are legal in New Mexico. King has not revealed his decision, but told KOAT 7, quote, “I think it’s actually hard to state a case why committed couples, whether they’re of the same sex or not, shouldn’t be entitled to the same legal rights.”
The Santa Fe City Council has made a declaration that same-sex marriage marriage is legal in the state of New Mexico through the findings of the City Attorney.
