A new poll is out by KOB TV on same-sex marriage in New Mexico. Let us be in constant prayer.
KOB Eyewitness News asked voters across the state whether or not marriages between two people of the same sex should be legal. Most voters said legal marriage between gay and lesbian people should be banned, 51 percent. About 5 percent were unsure and 44 percent support legalization.
We found when we broke the statistics down by gender, the results weren’t very different. Men agreed with legalization at 43 percent and women at 45 percent. The metro area seems more open to the idea as well at 42 percent in favor of same sex marriage. The rest of the state advocates for same sex marriage at 46 percent.
Younger New Mexicans voted in favor of legalization at an even higher rate with 63 percent of them supporting LGBT marriage, democrats support with the same percentage at 63 percent.
