We Praise God for these heroic men that saved the lives of many today! Thank YOU LORD for all of our Police Officers and Firefighters!

The Albuquerque Journal is reporting:

As an Albuquerque police officer was ending his shift, a Bernalillo County firefighter was heading to work, and both showed up at the scene of a fire and helped save residents’ lives.Albuquerque Police Officer Robert Mitchell, a field graveyard officer, arrived at the apartment complex in the 100 block of Glorietta NE, at about 6:30 a.m., just before he was to get off at 8 a.m., according to Tasia Martinez, APD spokeswoman. The Albuquerque Fire Department had already been dispatched when he showed up.

Still receiving treatment at the hospital, it was not clear whether he was going to be willing to speak to the media today, she said.

A Bernalillo County Fire Department Division Chief may be equally reluctant to receive media attention for helping rescue residents and pets in the burning 8-plex.

Darrel Lindsey, Division Chief of Operations also showed up at the scene this morning, according to Bernalillo County Fire Department Spokesman Larry Gallegos. “He doesnt really like being in the media and stuff,” he said.

Lindsey, a long-time firefighter who will retire later this year, served as both a paid and volunteer firefigher. He was on his way to work when he saw the fire and went to offer his help, Gallegos told the Journal.
