America

By: Angel L. Murchison

I sit on the edge of my bed this morning and pray for revival for America once again.

It brings to remembrance my baby girl Brooke when she was in the first grade sang and signed to a medley of patriotic songs in a Little Miss pageant our city held. Her blue dress adorned with red and white stars and sequins that made her shine, blessed this mother’s memory this morning. America the Beautiful was her first selection and I can still hear her little voice belt out the words Oh beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain, for purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain. America, America God shed his grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea. Then she sang God Bless America Land that I love. Stand beside her, and guide her, thru the night with a light from above. From the mountains, to the prairies, to the oceans, white with foam, God bless America, My home sweet home.

Lord you said in your word if my people who are called by my name would humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways you would heal our land. Our land is filled with evil. Abortion, pornography, drug trafficking, human trafficking to name a few. Sin has cost America and its cost has been great.

Today, Lord I pray for courage. Courage for myself to stand strong against the tide, even when it costs me relationships, positions, etc. I pray for my fellow American’s you give them courage. Courage to choose the high road and the way our country was founded on. God you are still God and I will put my trust in you.

Pray for America today and be full of courage to stand for what is right.
