Las Cruces Businessman, Michael  Vento, will soon have his Internet gambling case heard before the New Mexico Supreme Court.  As a district attorney in southern New Mexico, Susana Martinez prosecuted Vento for using his Las Cruces Internet cafe to offer Internet gambling.  Vento was convicted and his cafe was shuttered, but he won an appeals court case which agreed with his assertion that he was simply offering a “sweepstakes” promotion, much like McDonalds or Dairy Queen.

Stop Predatory Gambling views his operation as an online gambling business and we hope that the state Supreme Court will find him guilty of violating state gambling law.

More information on the case can be found in an article in the Las Cruces Sun News.
