When we broke the story last week on APS starting Goldie Hawn’s Mind Up program I took calls from KRQE and KOAT TV here in Albuquerque, all in all about a dozen calls about this story from the secular media. My thanks to Holly Holloman who told me about the program and then we posted the story here at FGGAM. McKinley Middle School in Albuquerque says it is ending an experimental moment of meditation for its students. The program called “Mind Up” has students take time at the beginning and end of each day to focus on their breathing. Parents were given a letter asking permission for their children to participate, but many said that they couldn’t get a straight answer as to whether there was a spiritual or religious slant to the program, and if so, what it was. “Mind Up” is a curriculum circulated by the Hawn Foundation and actress Goldie Hawn.
