What ifs !! Where would you go IF you could time travel?? Think! Tell me what pops first into your mind! Please!
Proudly I tell you that I have JUST completed time traveling! For real! Oh yeah! I jumped forward in time, in this fabulous machine invented a mere 100 years ago called an airplane.
Starting from Dulles International in Washington and landing mere moments later in Addis Ababa. Where? Addis Ababa, say it! If you ate food at a restaurant titled, “The Queen of Sheba Restaurant”, what kind of food would you be experiencing?? S.E., so many questions, you are saying, thinking, where is this girl now!! Hope you did not give up and you knew the answer is Ethiopia, a country rich in history for thousands of years and one written about prominently in both the Old and the New Testament of The Bible.
Another giveaway, the airlines is Ethiopian Airlines with headquarters in its capital of Addis Ababa. That was not my final destination, but the time machine held many interesting people leaving the USA and heading to various points on the African continent.
There was a French family two rows behind me, the husband is working out of Djibouti, a small east African country and yes, I know where that is. A couple from Michigan was directly in back of me and they already have a four year old son from Ethiopia, they were landing down to pick up their one year old daughter and augment their family. I saw pictures of both the children, extremely beautiful.
Across from me and up one were six sisters, they were covered from head to toe in black, but not muslim, I’d spoken with them before the flight and joked with them. Later I found out they were returning to their home country after being in the states and attending the funeral of their father, united in their mourning at his passing.
Hanging out in the back, stretching legs for a break I met a gentlemen from Seattle, exactly my age. He was headed to Jinja in Uganda to work with an orphanage, his first experience of this time traveling and giving to a culture so different from his own and his previous business life.
There was a fabulous Christian recording artist from the Congo aboard, he with his band were going down to Zimbabwe. I say fabulous, because I have checked out his music since on You Tube, he will so be leading chorus before the throne of The Most High God!
A team of twenty–three were headed to Kenya, an Italian nun was returning to northern Uganda where she has lived over 20 years. A church planter / multiplication Strategist with God’s Story Project was on board also headed to Kenya, their ministry has over 300 languages in audio and video of God’s “story”!
Once reaching Addis, half the travelers transferred to terminal 1, the old national terminal and I helped many of these people sort out where they were going and the routine of this location, they came to me! Also the man from Seattle found me and said his team leader wanted to meet me.
Pastor Mark Scales in Albuquerque always prays for divine appointment, the Seattle contingent was just that! Guess what?? They are going to come and work with me in the slums of Ggaba, one of my toughest locations! Praise God!
Knowing just this little slice of my life, why would YOU want to stay at home and not time travel also?
I would time travel to the Renaissance.
Divine appointments for sure!! Thank you for sharing HIS word all over the globe!!!!
