Last night after the High School Football game, my husband and I watched Facing the Giants on the inspirational Channel! Do yourself a favor and watch this movie … more than ONCE!
Faith is like exercise, you don’t have to be motivated, you just have to show up and motivation comes when you get there!
I thought I would share some thoughts with you today that were inspired by this movie, which lead me to the Word of God.
I hope this is a blessing to you, as I share by my faith in Jesus. I believe this is inspired by the power of the moving Holy Spirit to encourage you in your faith walk with God!

Inspiration from Facing the Giants!
If I had to pick ONLY one scene from this awesome and powerful movie that impacted me the most, it would be the conversation between the football coach and Mr. Bridges, a guy that had been praying for the school for years. I shared the link above!
Mr. Bridges believed God gave him a word for Coach Taylor.
Mr. Bridges only spoke the word he know agreed with the Word of God.
It was a good word INSPIRED from Rev 3:8 with emphasis & Mr. Bridges acted in faith!
“We serve a God that opens doors that no one can shut.
And He shuts doors that no one can open.
Behold, I have placed before you and open door that no one can shut.
I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.”
See Revelation 3:8 and Matthew 19:26
“The Lord is not through with you yet!
“You still have an open door!”
“And UNTIL the LORD moves you, you are to bloom right where you are planted.”
Reading from the Word of God:
“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.”
Revelation 3:8 New International Version (NIV)
How many times are we lead from the Lord to tell someone something from God? And how many times are we obedient? How many times do we run ahead of God … or lag behind? Do you seek the LORD for help; and are you willing to patiently wait on His Word that is for you to know? Are you willing to be strong in your faith and mighty in the LORD … and work for what YOU KNOW IS GOOD?
Mr. Bridges just felt lead to come and tell him a word that he believed was from God … He believed; and according to his faith, he acted with God.
According to Scripture (1 Co 3:6) We do little things, but it is God who does the work through our faith!
It took the faith of Mr. Bridges to initiate the “Gift of the Word of Knowledge (1 Co 12:8)” through the gift of the knowledge of God’s Word.
Then, something amazing happened that only God can do –The conversation opened, because this man was struggling so hard in all that he was doing … and his Word from God came to him through another who was blessed with the gift of the word of knowledge!
Encouragement in the LORD was all he needed!
Mr. Bridges told a story he had heard:
“There were 2 farmers who desperately needed rain.
And both of them prayed for rain, but only one of them went out and prepared his fields to receive it.
Which one do you think trusted God to send the rain?”
Coach Taylor: “Well the one who prepared his fields for it.”
Mr. Bridges: “Which one are you? God will send the rain when He is ready. You need to prepare your field to receive it.”
How about you?
What have you been praying for? Perhaps, like the coach in this movie you have been struggling to get ahead for a really long time? I can relate through our own personal difficulties! I have seen God move, when we surrender it all to HIM! What is the most difficult thing that you are facing right now and need to overcome? Is there a situation where you really need to see God move in your life? Surrender it all to trusting God and trust also in Jesus!

I hope this was a blessing to you. I am so moved by this movie! I hope you watch “FACING THE GIANTS” AGAIN, OR FOR THE FIRST TIME, BECAUSE IT IS A BLESSED MOVIE THAT HONORS GOD AND TEACHES FAITH!
Faith is ALL HEART! Faith –Don’t give up! Don’t give up at a certain point when you can GO further; “being sure of what you HOPE for and Certain of what you Don’t see (Heb 11:1). Faith honors God and God honors Faith, because Faith Trusts God.
