An Albuquerque Journal Poll shows that the majority of likely voters support a special election ballot initiative that would ban most abortions in the city after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The Poll shows that 54 percent favor the ban, while 39 percent oppose the measure. 2 percent said their support depends on the details of the ban and 5 percent were undecided. Support for the late term abortion ban was given a huge boost by a large number of religious Hispanics who typically vote Democratic on other issues.
