Pearce tours New Mexico Flood Damage, Fed’s release 2 million to help with roads and bridges

Glenwood, NM  Today, U.S. Congressman Steve Pearce met with local officials and emergency management teams in Reserve and Glenwood, NM.  This afternoon, he will tour flood damage in surrounding areas near Mineral Creek, Mogollon, Alma, and the Catwalk.

 

“I am deeply grateful for the phenomenal efforts of local officials and emergency responders,” said Pearce.  “Their hard work and continuing dedication has kept New Mexicans safe and helped prevent further damage.  I also appreciate all those local residents who have taken time this weekend to share their stories with me  and help me understand how they have been affected and what needs to be done.  My office continues to stand ready to aid those affected in any way we can.”

 

Pearce is scheduled to tour further areas and meet with other local officials in the coming days.  Tomorrow, he will meet with local officials in Truth or Consequences, and tour flood damage in the Las Palomas and Animas Creek areas.  He will also visit Grant County to tour damage in areas near Santa Clara.

FGGAM News also learned that the U.S. Department of Transportation will make  available $2 million in emergency relief funds to help New Mexico deal with road and bridge repairs.
