I am sadden to read this morning that 14 year old Hannah Bruch died of an overdose of illegal drugs. You may remember that Hannah became ill at Expo New Mexico last month at this horrible event called “FOAM WONDERLAND” Read more here https://fggam.org/teen-dies-at-foam-wonderland-at-expo-new-mexico/
According to the State Police Report that is in the Albuquerque Journal, Hannah took the illegal drug Ecstasy with her friends before entering the event at Expo New Mexico. (State fairgrounds)
I am sadden that State Officials ever let this type of event take place. You play with fire and you will get burned. The State Police report shows that there were teens with alcohol inside the party venue and that adults were bringing their drinks into areas with minors.
I call this “monkey business”
Now the report in this mornings Albuquerque Journal said that event security did their job at the event?
I believe the problem goes higher up! Why was this outfit, “FOAM WONDERLAND” ever allowed on State Property, or even better yet, allowed to set up anywhere in the state?
You put on events like this and you invite trouble.
Why did the state let an event go on like this? For Money?
The Fair Board has met only twice in a year! There is a problem here!
In the meantime, we, the state of New Mexico have a deceased 14 year old on our hands, even if she took the drugs before entering Expo New Mexico, we cannot wash our hands of this death so easily, we have a huge drug problem in this state.
My spirit is uncomfortable by this quote this morning in the Albuquerque Journal by Michael Henningsen, who is the PR person for Expo New Mexico, “It is clear based on information provided by State Police that the death of Hannah Bruch was due to a tragic choice and that there was nothing that could have been done by Expo New Mexico to have prevented it.”
I don’t know Mr. Henningsen about that, I think there is a whole lot more we all can do, she was just a child.
Mr. Henningsen did say in the Albuquerque Journal write up that “thoughts and prayers of Expo management and staff were with Bruch’s family”
Amen!

No surprise here: NM Attorney General Gary King says Gay marriage is a civil rights issue and should be decided by the courts and not a statewide vote, as Gov. Martinez has called for. Of course King is running against Gov. Martinez.
There is a report in this mornings Albuquerque Journal that in a memo released by King, the AG cited three historical landmarks. The Emancipation Proclamation, women’s suffrage and Civil Rights Act.
No mention of the Bible.

I am already tired of political yard signs. I am tired of all the “Nothing Noise” of Political campaigns. Show me your record!

I think the quote of the day or year goes to President Obama, They’re focused(Republicans) on trying to mess with me. They’re not focused on you.”
Mr. President, I would say not many of you in Washington our focused on the common folk!
Events held like the one at Expo New Mexico are drug heavens. When you come to these events there is an understanding that a lot of drugs will be present, the most common being molly also known as MDMA. Why was a 14 teen year old let in to an event like this? New Mexico already has a drug problem among teens and the state housing events like these is not going to help.
