The Truth About Israel

 Israel constantly finds itself defending against false charges and intense smear campaigns that make their way into even respectable mainstream media outlets. Much like the blood libels and vicious accusations of centuries past, the Jewish people still seem to be facing a long litany of lies and slanders. No doubt, these are aimed at undermining Israel’s moral standing and her very right to exist. Now many Israelis have complained that their government is not doing enough to refute these lies. They insist that more time and resources and creative thinking needs to be invested in what they call “hasbara” – or positive information about Israel. But one Israeli official who has been very effective in this regard is Danny Ayalon, the former deputy minister of foreign affairs. While serving in recent years in Israel’s Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Ayalon began producing a series of videos that were very successful in answering back at some of the incitement and unfair criticism of Israel. The videos took advantage of his 25 years of experience at the forefront of Israeli public diplomacy and foreign affairs, and they were viewed by millions around the world over the Internet. Now back in private life, Danny has continued to produce the video series addressing some of the core issues surrounding Israel today. The Truth About Israel – That’s our focus this week here on Front Page Jerusalem. We’ll visit with Amb. Danny Ayalon to talk about his continuing efforts to defend Israel from incitement and libel through his on-line video series “The Truth About Israel.” We’ll discuss some of the critical topics he has taken up lately and how you can become a better advocate for Israel. |
