Frank Haley of KKIM reports: The Detroit City Council may have found a low-cost remedy to battle urban overgrowth. The council today is scheduled to hear from an expert on using goats for clearing the problem. Councilman James Tate is pushing the idea, arguing that allowing the domesticated livestock to graze in vacant lots would be an affordable alternative to mowing. Tate points out that the practice is already in place in several other cities.
