The Balloon Fiesta Special Shapes Rodeo has been canceled Thursday morning due to high winds above the ground. However, pilots will still inflate and tether their balloons for a ground display.
Balloon Fiesta officials say they will continue to monitor winds as a safety precaution.

We understand It was her birthday yesterday A cold front is approaching and as it goes through the region this afternoon there is a potential for wind gusts up to 50 mph. We also have a chance for rain. For Friday less wind, hi of 64 with sunny skies low of 40, for Saturday up to 68 with sunny skies, back into the 70’s for Sunday!
Meanwhile there was an accident involving a balloon ride yesterday: Passenger 66 year old Daniel Lovato suffered severe burns and underwent surgery after the balloon he was in hit some power lines. Mr. Lovato is in critical condition, let us be in prayer. Mr. Lovato was the only passenger in the balloon. The Pilot, Mark Kilgore received burns to his head and is listed in satisfactory condition at the hospital according to the Albuquerque Journal. We pray healing over both men, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
