Abortion Activists in Albuquerque Spray Pro Lifers with Water Guns, Throw Fake Blood, Destroy Signs

Next week, residents of Albuquerque, New Mexico will vote on a measure that would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.Pro-life advocates throughout the city are engaging in campaigns to inform their neighbors about the vote and to lobby early voters.

As Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, tells LifeNews, abortion activists are harassing them as they engage in their First Amendment rights to free speech:

The pro-aborts have gotten wind of what is happening next Tuesday in Albuquerque and now it’s time for the pro-life movement to step up.

This is a fight we can’t lose. We must pass the ordinance next Tuesday to ban late-term abortions in the city and displace 2 of the last 4 remaining late-term abortionists in the country.

Late last night, I received an update from Students for Life’s Rocky Mountain Regional Coordinator, Lauren, updating me on what is happening on the ground in Albuquerque, and I can’t believe what she said.

She told me that pro-lifers there who have been holding signs outside of early voting polling centers have, so far, had “fake blood thrown at them, had their signs kicked downed, been sprayed down with water guns, and have been harassed!!”

However, our pro-life students are not giving up. In fact, this violence and anger is only serving to inspire them to work harder. Last night, the pro-life students and local pro-life organization volunteers made 6,000 phone calls!

And this morning, our Students for Life group at the University of New Mexico (UMN) will be canvassing their entire campus and are preparing to counter the pro-abortion efforts there by driving their fellow pro-life students to the polls. I have never been more proud of a Students for Life group than I am of our new group at UMN. They are taking their city by storm!

This Friday vans from Phoenix, Denver, and the Four Corners will be arriving with other Students for Life leaders who are coming to help their peers at UMN.

This weekend, Students for Life of America invites YOU to effect change in New Mexico as we set out on a journey to defend LIFE in Albuquerque.  We need you there with us to help knock on doors, visit churches, make phone calls, and distribute fliers until every resident of ABQ has the resources and information about late-term abortion and its impact on Albuquerque. In the face of the abortion industry’s bottomless coffers, we need your help to ensure that ALL of the residents of Albuquerque hear the truth about late-term abortion and its detrimental effects on women and children. This Friday, we invite you to hop on a van leaving the Four Corners area, Colorado Springs, and Phoenix areas, respectively,  with dozens of other pro-life students as we travel to Albuquerque to make history for the weekend. All your lodging and travel costs will be provided. You are the pro-life generation, and the children dying in Albuquerque need you to stand up for their lives.

Bud also says that property of Pro Lifers in Albuquerque has been damaged by Abortion supporters.
