Kramer weatherdog final

Woofs and waggles! A chilly Kramer here to provide up to the doggone minute updates about weather. Here on the Hilltop (Los Alamos, NM nestled in the Jemez Mountains) we are getting a little preview of the approaching cold front. Brrr….our high yesterday was only in the 40s and we got some light drizzle in the afternoon. Today, our temps are expected to hit the high 40s. Today should be relatively quiet, but then tonight into tomorrow, it’s suppose to get cold with possible snow.

Looks like we have a chance for some overnight moisture with the possibility of SNOW in the morning. You can BET I’ll keep you posted on that white fluffy stuff. Looks like there is a good possibility of snow in that big square state to our north (Mom says it’s Colorado….and that if I’m going to be a Weather Dog that I need to learn some geography). So, today a strong cold front is going to drop south across eastern New Mexico. The northern central and eastern part of the state is under a Winter Storm Warning starting late this afternoon and the south central and eastern part of NM will be under a winter storm advisory . . . and far south eastern NM, a Winter Storm Watch.

Here is what the sky looked like this morning on my hilltop:

So, what does this mean for ME? . . . I’m a skinny dog and it means I’m glad my mom and dad let me live in the house. Just take a look at my skinny legs!

And look at a bird’s eye view of my svelte canine figure:

I used to have a lit-tle more meat on my body, but my beloved agility trainer girl told my mom I was a tad overweight. Well, because my mom loves me so much, she put me a small diet. It was OK, but not really…insert sad whine here :(  I luv, luv, LUV food. (Shh, just between you and me, I sneaked food when Mom or Daddy left the dog food bin open. I don’t like a diet, no matter how small . . . dieting should be for cats . . . and maybe goats. I need to keep my macho terrier bulk nice and bulky. Mom never had a clue, but I wonder who took this photo of me? Do you have any ideas?)

Remember, even non-skinny dogs need to stay warm, too. I’m glad that my mom and dad let me stay in the house because I’m comfortable when winter storms come. If you have an outside dog consider letting him/her in during the cold times. If you can’t let a pet in, they can be pretty comfortable with a dog house. A nice bed or rags they can nestle in will warm their insides on a cold cold day or night. Also, I hear straw is a great material to help keep outside pets toasty. So, don’t forget, non-skinny dogs get cold, too.

Woof and out from Skinny Weather Dog, Kramer!! Have a blessed day, EVERYBODEEEE!

  1. Did Kramer get his Obamacare yet Shona? He can call Baxter if he wants but I don’t have his number. I’m sure he’s in the directory! (LOL LOL LOL) He’s a Yorkie but seems pretty talented also!
