Please pray as we unfortunately announce the death of former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela.
An iconic figure, Nelson Mandela was a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and became an enduring symbol of integrity, principle and resilience. Mandela spent 27 years as a prisoner in South Africa for opposing apartheid. After his release, he became the country’s first black president.
The announcement was made by South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma.
