Education is front and center for New Mexico once again. One part of this complex problem is the single parent household that makes up more than 36% of households in New Mexico. Yet we continue to encourage and reward this choice. We even hold up the single mother as virtuous and honorable. Both the choice of government to incentivize and choice of the single mother to have children outside of marriage are immoral. These choices are destroying our education system and our economy. They enslave people to a life of abject poverty and government dependance. These programs that claim to redistribute the wealth to the poor, instead exacerbate the problem of income inequality that progressives claim to solve.
