Good Morning Beautiful People

By: Angel L. Murchison

Happy, Happy New year to you all! I celebrated New Years Eve with two of my favorite people in the entire world. Can you guess who they are? Yes your right Mason and Evan, my two grandsons. I hurriedly left work for some treats and party favors at one of our favorite stores, The Dollar Tree. They arrived shortly after I got home and the good times began.

We started the evening at Maine Jump only to discover it was teen night. They were setting up for the evening and I just didn’t have the heart tell my grandkids they couldn’t jump. I spoke to the owner and he agreed to let them jump while they set up and until he was ready to leave. (Lord I pray you bless this man’s business). They jumped until they would almost lose their breath from one castle to the next, a sight to behold the joy in these two precious faces. When it was time to leave Mason thought a milkshake from Mickadonald’s as he calls it would be a plus to the evening. So we journey to McDonald’s for the treat and decide to visit their playroom. Mason, Evan and I and a lovely lady with her grandson were the only ones in the playroom. Mason and his new friend would give Evan a boost so he could enjoy the play equipment too. He is a bit too short to make the climb up alone to enjoy the short wee ride down the slide. They had so much fun and I met a dear woman who had been through some hard trials in 2013. Our journey’s seemed quite similar; we prayed for each other and when we left, we left as friends. It was definitely a divine appointment set up by the master himself.

We arrive home and enjoyed some more treats, wore our party hats and blew our horns. We played some games and enjoyed the rest of the evening. I think we all made it to 10 o’clock. I assured them it was midnight somewhere in the world and we could blow our horn one last time and call it the New Year. We said our prayers and prayed for people all across this globe before we shut our eyes. Somehow I know in their little spirits they know what the world needs is love. Love like the Savior we just celebrated on Christmas. A friend like they had just met at Mickadonald’s to give a boost, the man at Maine Jump to allow them the time there, the blowing of those horns for victory for 2014 and then I remembered journaling this:

Stepping Up in 2014

I was praying about what I would write for the New Year post. These inspirations come to me sometimes in the oddest places. I had been thinking about it for days now. It was December 31st at almost quitting time at my full time job, I went to the fax machine to send a verification and while it was transmitting the word came. Here it is…

2014 will be like no other, take it a step higher. Start strong and take the higher step. Leap, jump, dance, run, fly, do whatever you need to do, but take that step. Destiny awaits you.

Here’s my prayer for you today: Lord I pray for every reader across this globe. I pray courage to step up in 2014. Everything Lord you have promised them you will bring to pass. I pray God you will use every reader today to touch another life. Just like the little boy at Mickadonald’s, God someone today needs a boost. Use us today Lord to be that person. For the people that just left behind a year of great trial, I pray a fresh new beginning. Oh God you are the God of justice, you are the God that sees it all. I blow the horn for every reader today all across this globe. Victory is theirs today because of you Jesus. Let’s help each other take a step higher in 2014. Let’s make a difference and share the love of Christ to a hurting world. It’s all for your glory Lord, your glory alone. Jesus reigns!

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.”
