Linked below you can find a recent and well written article from Aaron Blake at the Washington Post concerning a possible controversial viewpoint and statement from New Mexico’s Congressman Steve Pearce concerning Biblical matters of marriage.

As a retired military man, I learned well the necessary lessons of the “Chain Of Command”, (COC), which has many practical logistical and tactical purposes and reasons. Any successful military organization in history has had a strong COC enabling it to operate in a fluent manner in times of peace or times of war. As a part of ‘second nature’, I took that, along with the Bible and applied it to my own household which I consider one of the wisest tactical maneuvers I’ve personally ever made!

While a home and a family are obviously not ‘military’ in nature, many of life’s complexities that you encounter in one, you will also encounter in the other. A good home needs that same kind of structure.

Christians also have a chain of command. We call it: The Bible. The ‘Christian family’ COC is well laid out in Ephesians and in referencing the congressman’s statements, I would take you directly to Ephesians 5:21-32 where the Biblical COC between husband and wife is well laid out. That COC is inclusive of the man, the wife, the church and Christ. The kicker for me lies in 5:31

As the scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”

United into one – powerful! Ephesians discusses much more concerning the family COC concerning children but we’ll drop off there as that is another topic.

The Biblical COC has been set out for us and it is priceless in helping us maintain a happy and prosperous home and family. While many will read their own views into wording such as ‘submissive’ and twist the reading of the Bible to meet their own needs, let me assure you, GOD GOT IT RIGHT!

After serving in the United States Navy for 22 years I retired from the service late in 1991. Having always loved the southwest, shortly after retiring, I moved to the Albuquerque area where I have resided since. Initially I worked as a contractor for approximately 6 years doing cable construction work. That becoming a little dangerous, at an elevated age, I moved into the retail store management environment managing convenience stores for roughly 16 years. With several disabilities, I am now fully retired and am getting more involved with helping Pastor Dewey & Pastor Paul with their operations at FGGAM which pleases my heart greatly as it truly is - "For God's Glory Alone". I met my precious wife Sandy here in Albuquerque and we have been extremely happily married for 18 years and I am the very proud father to Sandy's wonderful children, Tiana, our daughter, Ryan & Ross, our two sons, and proud grandparents to 5 wonderful grandchildren. We attend Christ Full Deliverance Ministries in Rio Rancho which is lead by Pastor's Marty & Paulette Cooper along with Elder Mable Lopez as regular members. Most of my time is now spent split between my family, my church & helping the Pastors by writing here on the FGGAM website and doing everything I can to support this fantastic ministry in the service of our Lord. Praise to GOD & GOD Bless to ALL! UPDATED 2021: Rick and Sandy moved to Florida a few years ago. We adore them and we pray for Rick as he misses Sandy so very, very much!
