As soon as I lose touch with God, who is everything, truth, life and light, I will become entangled again in many daily “realities” which present themselves to me as if they are of ultimate value. The “nothing noise” of the world will try and pull us off the track.
We are living in world where a man shoots another man to death in a movie theater for texting, that is the world we live in. That happened yesterday in Florida.
A retired Tampa police captain accused of shooting and killing a man inside a Florida movie theater is due in court today. Curtis Reeves was arrested in the theater Monday afternoon. Police say Reeves shot Chad and Nicole Oulson during the previews while arguing over text messages that Oulson had been sending.
Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out, in the gateway of the city she makes her speech: How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? If you had responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you. Proverbs 1: 20-23
There are two kinds of wisdom as James shares with us in James 3……….There is the earthly, unspiritual, ways of the devil……..But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.
