Christian Tour Bus Targeted In Sinai Bomb Attack

Desert explosion (Military Images)A group of Christian tourists from South Korea were the target of what security forces believe was a terrorist strike on their bus on Sunday as it traveled from St. Catherine’s Monastery in the southern Sinai Peninsula towards the Israeli border. Four people, including the bus driver, were killed in the bomb attack, while 15 others were wounded. Israeli ambulances were prepared to accept wounded from the attack but Egyptian authorities transported all those needing attention to a hospital on the Egyptian side of the border. Rumors that the Sinai-based terror organization Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis was behind the attack were reported in some Egyptian media, while the outlawed Moslem Brotherhood issued a statement in English condemning the attack while hinting in its Arabic statement that the attack targeted the “Zionists” on the bus. Read More
