(New York, NY)  —  Gregory Dobin [[ DOB-bin ]] is making history at New York’s Mount Sinai Medical Center.  He’s become the first heart patient in the nation to get a pacemaker that has no electrical leads.   The pacemaker is literally screwed into the heart muscle which is a ten-to-15-minute process that   promotes quicker healing.  The procedure performed on Dobin is part of a clinical trial.  It’s expected to take two years before the  lead-less pacemaker gets FDA approval for widespread use.   health news
