Netanyahu Meets the Press – Part 2
This week, we are taking you back inside a recent press conference held by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for foreign journalists based in Jerusalem. There are a number of issues facing Israel right now which Netanyahu was asked to address. For instance, he was questioned on why his government continues to announce the construction of new homes in Jewish settlements at such a crucial time in US-led peace talks with the Palestinians. Now much of the mainstream media has been biased against Israel in their reporting on the region, and this was apparent in their grilling of Netanyahu at his annual media stakeout for the foreign press corps. But he stood his ground and  also sought to highlight some of the more positive developments for his nation of late, such as Israel’s exciting new economic ventures with Asia. So how did Prime Minister Netanyahu handle some of the tough questions thrown his way in his recent press conference in Jerusalem? What was his response on the issue of continuing settlement construction? Did he offer anything new with regard to the Iranian nuclear dispute? And what other issues did the media ask him to address? Netanyahu Meets the Press – Part 2. That’s our focus again this week here on Front Page Jerusalem! We’ll bring you more of the remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his annual appearance before the foreign press corps in Jerusalem, held recently in the Israeli capital. Unlike many other media outlets, we’ll have his straight answers without any spin or anti-Israel bias. Plus, our weekly Word From Zion segment continues to look at the biblical theme of Restoration.

Battling the Boycott!

Israel is a very innovative country that today is giving the world many hi-tech inventions and cutting-edge medical advances. Yet the nation is also facing a growing international campaign to impose economic boycotts and sanctions on the Jewish state. This effort came to the fore recently when the Israeli company SodaStream ran ads during the Super Bowl starring Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson, prompting the pro-Palestinian charity Oxfam to dump her as their goodwill ambassador. Now the boycott campaign is gaining such momentum that the Israeli cabinet held a special session last week to discuss ways it can be combatted. US Secretary of State John Kerry also got into hot water recently for suggesting the boycott threat could worsen if Israel fails to make concessions in the peace process. Indeed, the stakes are high as the boycott movement takes aim right now at everything made in the Israeli settlements. But make no mistake – they eventually want a ban on all Israeli-made products and ultimately their goal is Israel’s demise. So just how strong is the anti-Israel boycott campaign at the moment? How is it impacting life in the Jewish communities over the pre-1967 Green Line? What are they doing to fight this effort at economic suffocation? And what can pro-Israel Christians do to help? Battling the Boycott! That’s our focus next week here on Front Page Jerusalem. We’ll bring you the latest on the growing efforts to boycott Israel. Our special guest will be Mayor Benny Kashriel of the Jewish community of Ma’ale Adumim, where the SodaStream factory is located. He’ll give us insights into how this battle is shaping up and why the boycott campaign would harm Palestinians just as much as Israelis.
