(London, England) — London Mayor Boris Johnson wants children removed from parents who are radical Islamists. Johnson writes in “The Daily Telegraph” radicalization isn’t getting worse, but certain isn’t getting better. He also writes there are children being “taught crazy stuff” and wants them to be treated like victims of child abuse. Johnson adds there’s been at least one case where the younger siblings of a convicted terrorist became radical Islamists as well.
One concern I have with this type of situation is that… if a precedent is established, that radical parenting is unlawful, what happens if the government decides that Christianity in it’s true form, putting God and His Word before all else, is too radical to train a child in?
I do think “radical” Islamism is a form of child abuse. In reality, those radical Muslims are simply acting out the tenets of their faith. And it is violent. And, the children do need help. Proceeding with wisdom and prayer is needed. In the U.S., we need to be careful to protect our religous freedom yet find a way to protect children from truly damaging religions. It is SO important to participate in electing Christian and/or right wing judges and other local, state and national public servants. Others are working hard to achieve their goals.
