Getting “entirely ready” to have God remove “all” our short comings
It sounds so impossible because in reality we know that such perfection is out of each. This is another way of saying that we’re going to do our best to approach a lifelong goal, which no one ever completes this side of eternity.
The apostle Paul expressed a similar thought. He said “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:12-13).
The combination of a positive attitude and energetic effort is a part of the mystery of our cooperation with God. Paul said, “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure ” (Philippians 2:12-13).
We don’t have to demand perfection of ourselves. It is enough to keep moving ahead as best we can. We should look forward to our rewards, with hopes of becoming all God intends us to be………Amen
