Catholic Radio Host Takes Heat From Catholic School On Being Critical Of Divorce And Homosexuality

Rocky HoffmanSOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. -This is a strange story, does 2 plus 2 still equal 4?  The principal of a Catholic high school in Rhode Island has apologized for bringing in a speaker whose criticism of divorce and homosexuality offended some students, parents and faculty.
Principal David Carradini of Prout School in South Kingstown says he invited the Rev. Rocky Hoffman to speak on April 4. Carradini says Hoffman’s mix of personal opinion and church teaching caused offense.
Hoffman is a host at Relevant Radio, a Catholic radio network.
The Providence Journal reports that several people called on Carradini to resign. He said in a letter to parents that resigning is not in the best interests of the Prout School, a high school run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence.
The diocese called the matter “deeply regrettable.”
