(Columbia, SC) — There’s a Biblical battle over dinosaur bones in South Carolina and it’s stalling legislation in the state Senate. A measure that would designate the woolly mammoth as the official state fossil passed in the House, but is currently being debated in the Senate after Republican Kevin Bryant added two verses from the book of Genesis. The woolly mammoth was chosen after the animal’s remains were found on a South Carolina plantation in 1725. Bryant says we should acknowledge God’s creations.
