If we are to be effective ministers of the Word of God, we must have …and further develop … a love for the Bible – the Word of God. Ezekiel had already been called as a prophet of the Lord (Ezek 1:3) but God showed him that he needed more of the Word of God to be properly trained (2Tim 3:16-17). Read what He directed Ezekiel to do:
Ezekiel 3:1-3 (NKJV) 1 Moreover He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.”
2 So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that scroll.
3 And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness.
We must continue to feed ourselves on God’s Word to be strong in the Lord and to speak to others in His Name.
