(Las Vegas, NV) — The Nevada Republican Party’s platform no longer opposes abortion and gay marriage. More than 500 delegates at this weekend’s state convention in Las Vegas agreed to drop both issues from the party’s platform, following the lead of the Clark County GOP. Platform committee members say opposing same-sex marriages or legal abortion does not fit into the party’s stand against government getting involved in personal lives. The previous Republican platform defined marriage as “between a man and a woman,” and called itself a “pro-life” party. There is no middle road here in God’s Word, so what the Republicans in Nevada are really saying is that they support abortion and gay marriage. Lord have mercy!
There really is not a Republican party anymore. Those bumper stickers I see from time to time that say, “God is not a Republican” are certainly true.
