Apparently, it is possible to astonish God with our lack of prayer and intercession. South Dakota is facing a critical challenge to traditional marriage and righteousness. Please accept this invitation to gather together with us for focused prayer for South Dakota and the challenge to traditional marriage. Preparing for Prayer!
We are coming together for an evening of worship and prayer. We are believing God to awaken his church in South Dakota in this hour and to enable us to stand for righteousness!
There is a storm brewing in South Dakota and it doesn’t involve snow, rain, or sleet. It is a much more serious and dangerous storm that I speak of. This storm threatens to deteriorate the very foundations of our state. This storm is a direct attack on marriage and South Dakota’s godly constitutional definition of marriage.
Last weekend a lesbian couple from Rapid City, backed by the LGBT, traveled to Minnesota to get married. They have announced publicly that they now intend to challenge, through the court system, our state constitutional definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman. Without a divine intervention, South Dakota is in big trouble. But it has always been little David’s that God has used to bring down mighty giants. Friends, same sex marriage is a mighty giant in our land. And our only hope of standing for righteousness as a state is to humble ourselves before our even mightier God and cry out for a supernatural victory.
I do not think that any of us can fathom the spiritual and natural ramifications for South Dakota if it sets its face against the Lord in this fight for what is right. The Lord is wise. He knows exactly what he is doing. And all his ways are perfect. If God says that marriage is between one man and one woman, then it will not go well for the people, who, in their arrogance, think that they can re-construct the family unit better than God.
We need a miracle as a state. And a miracle is exactly what we are going to be gathering together to ask for. I believe the Lord is asking his church to come out of the closet on this simple issue of truth. Do we stand with the Lord or don’t we? Let’s be clear, homosexuals are not our enemy. Jesus died so all mankind could have the opportunity to turn from their sin and receive him as savior. Ephesians 6 says our true battle is not with people, but it is spiritual. And spiritual battles are won with spiritual weapons. We are calling Christians to commit themselves to engage in this battle. The Lord invites you to stand with him in this battle. Here is what you can do:
Commit to fasting and praying every Wednesday for the next 12 months that God would bring a spiritual awakening in South Dakota and strengthen us to stand with the Lord concerning his definition of marriage.
