(Albuquerque, NM) — A group of New Mexico independent voters plans to file a lawsuit next week against elections officials. It’s over New Mexico’s primary elections which only allow Democrats and Republicans to vote. Plaintiffs say they feel cheated and say it’s unconstitutional. I have to say I support this! I am an Independent and it is un-American that I and others like me cannot vote in the primary! New Mexico makes it very hard for Independents! Our Founding Father have got to be turning over in the graves at this law! Do Republicans and Democrats celebrate July 4th Independence Day?
The Republicans and Democrats of New Mexico have done a good job of keeping New Mexico at or near the bottom. The Republicans have had their opportunity with Governor Martinez, but not much has changed since ex-Governor Bill Richardson.
