The search for three Colorado ranchers who disappeared in a massive mudslide near Collbran, Colorado has been called off. Authorities have turned their attention toward another potential slide. The three ranchers were checking on a problem with an irrigation ditch caused by an initial slide on Sunday when a large chuck of a ridge broke off, sending soggy earth spilling like wet cement for three miles. The mudslide is about three-quarters of a mile across and several hundred feet deep at the center.
