Two Jewish families were rescued from the intensifying unrest in Ukraine on Tuesday, with staff from Israel’s Jewish Agency helped them to escape the siege at the airport in Donetsk as they were waiting to board aircraft for Israel. All six refugees were reportedly safe in Israel as of Wednesday morning. 762 Jews have immigrated from Ukraine to Israel between January and April, compared to 315 over the same period a year ago, including several dozen who were assisted by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem.
