Persecution of Christians (Illustrative)Let us e in constant prayer, as Paul teaches us….Reports out of Iraq indicate that in the wake of battles between the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terror militia and its enemies, many of the country’s Christians have been turned into internal refugees, fleeing south to Baghdad and east into the Kurdish controlled areas around the city of Kirkuk. The city of Mosul, the capital of Nineveh province, formally contained one of the largest remaining segments of Iraq’s ancient Chaldean Christian community, but the ISIL have targeted this group along with Shi’ite Moslems as part of a campaign to purge the areas under their control of “apostates” which has included mass executions of Shi’ite prisoners and execution by crucifixion of Christian leaders. Read More
