The Albuquerque Journal is reporting this morning that Bernalillo County Sheriff Dan Houston has lost the Republican nomination in yesterdays primary. Sheriff Houston’s race against his ex-Deputy Scott Baird was very close, Baird 48% and Houston 46%. The race was very contentious, I watched from the sidelines and prayed over this race. I pray for healing on both sides of this battle, and it was a battle, involving a Church and friends and many were hurt over this race. As my Daddy would say in a case like this, ” I don’t know if anybody wins in this race.”
On the Democratic side it looks like ex-Sheriff Manny Gonzales gets the nod in another close race. Late night totals showed that Gonzales was at 51% of the vote edging Sylvester Stanley. Picture of Sheriff Dan Houston
