White House put a target on your back
Time magazine, which is now online, interestingly has a lot of contacts inside the terrorist Taliban leadership. In a lengthy story chronicling the five-terrorist swap for deserter Bowe Bergdahl, Time asked a Taliban commander involved with the negotiations whether the Taliban “would be inspired by the exchange to kidnap others.” The answer was that he laughed and said, “Definitely. It’s better to kidnap one person like Bergdahl than kidnapping hundreds of useless people. It has encouraged our people. Now everybody will work hard to capture such an important bird.” Bergdahl was given a ceremonial tunic and turban reserved for friends prior to his release and he was referred to as a guest.
Many may ask how could the president of the United States be so ignorant to think he could negotiate a swap of five highly regarded Islamic terrorist commanders for one lowly private? Answer is: the occupant of the Oval Office knew exactly what he was doing. He did not seek approval from Congress because he knew there would be none forthcoming. It is better to ask forgiveness than permission. Several congressional leaders already have stated that the Administration is calling them to apologize. When there are many other Americans being held captive around the world, one must consider why this particular swap. Simple answer: It emboldens a people with whom the president is sympathetic.
From my perspective in trying to minister in areas where there are aggressive Muslims, it presents a challenge. Until you have been preaching the word of God in a small church in the African bush and Muslims are buzzing you on their motorcycles, you have no idea of what I’m talking about. While our missionaries and myself were once people to be harassed, we are now people who can be kidnapped and held for ransom for however long it takes. Can anyone think about the Nigerian school girls who were kidnapped in April by the Muslim terrorist group Boko Haram? Boko Haram is the political system subscribed to by the Fulani in Ghana. They use the same tactics.
No doubt the president has put a target on the back of American missionaries all around the world. Such a deliberate action. We have to come to grips with reality. This Islamic- and communist-raised president hates what Christianity and America stands for. His actions against Christians and Americans are far too many and far too deliberate to think that they are the accidents of a bumbling fool. They are deliberate and purposeful. Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” This is the sum of the whole when you examine the current president. He has killed. He has stolen. He is destroying all that is good about our country. And Americans are allowing him to do it. Can we hope for change? I pray fervently so.
