How would you characterize the way God has worked in your life? How has He answered your prayers and met your needs? Would you say that He works on the “Just In Time” principle, where He leaves everything on your list until the very last minute — making you sweat it out, and raising your anxiety level until you could hardly stand it? Or, would you say that God has worked in your life on the “At Just The Right Time” principle? That’s where He’s never too early or never too late, but always at the right time. Think about it. Have you ever had something happen in your life and it happened to you at just the right time? Maybe it was a financial matter — you received some needed money, or a promotion at work came through just when you were thinking of leaving or a phone call from just the right person with the right words of wisdom or comfort. As you look back at those occasions in your life as a Christian, do you think that any of those events were by accident?
According to the Jackson, Mississippi Clarion Ledger newspaper, a woman in Ridgeland, Mississippi, had a day that went from bad to worse to really worse and it started with some lost keys. The unidentified woman was searching everywhere for her lost keys. That apparently included checking the garbage bag she’d tossed in a dumpster outside her apartment complex because when the dump truck pulled up the woman was right where she wasn’t supposed to be: in the dumpster!
The dump truck operator didn’t realize the woman was in the dumpster when he picked it up and emptied it nor did he hear her yelling when he drove off during the two mile drive. Someone happened to hear shouting from inside the truck and alerted the driver and that’s a good thing—because the driver was in the process of crushing the garbage. The woman was conscious when she was pulled out of the banana peels and coffee grinds at just the right time and received treatment only for aching joints.
“Just at the right time.” Isn’t that our story? Just at the right time we heard the gospel message of what Jesus did for us and we gave our hearts to Him, accepting God’s forgiveness. We were pulled out of the garbage can of life, cleaned up and given a new life. It’s called being “born again.” Is that your story? If not, it can be. Simply ask God to forgive you right now. Tell Him you repent of your sins and ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and change you, as you give your heart to Him. He came at just the right time for you, now why don’t you come at just the right time for Him? Maranatha!
