16 year old Victor Vialpando pointed a hand
gun at Espanola, New Mexico police officers Sunday morning and then was shot dead by officer Jeremy Apodaca. According to the Albuquerque Journal report, Espanola Police Chief Eric Garcia said that Officers tried to talk the victim into dropping his gun before Apodaca fired his gun. The Chief said that the incident was recorded by a nearby surveillance camera. The shooting took place in a parking lot near Riverside Drive and Corlett Road in Espanola around 11am Sunday. The Officers were responding to the report of a suspicious person at that location. New Mexico State Police are handling the investigation. Let us be in prayer over this tragedy.
