Israel’s security cabinet voted on Tuesday morning to accept a cease-fire agreement with Gaza based terror organizations which was offered late Monday by Egypt and strongly endorsed by the US and other world governments. However, the Hamas terror militia which rules the Strip officially rejected the cease-fire as “surrender and capitulation” and rockets continued to be fired into Israel following the 9 AM starting time. Israeli officials noted that by accepting the cease-fire, Israel will gain international legitimacy for continuing to strike Hamas if it violates the agreement, which it did for several hours Tuesday, after which Israel resumed airstrikes in the afternoon.
