This headline is from the July 4th edition of the Albuquerque Journal. Is this what we have become? It’s all about the money? American politics leaves out the concerns of the average Joe and Jane. It’s all about the money. Here in New Mexico it seems Governor Martinez does more fund raising than anything else, besides running her TV ads. What is she doing on immigration? Last week the Mayor of Artesia said he had heard nothing from the Governor on the crises in his town. Attorney General Gary King who is running against Martinez, loaned his own campaign $200,000. The average citizen of New Mexico, one of the poorest in the United States, cannot even relate to such high dollar amounts, I know I can’t! So I think the Albuquerque Journal hit the nail right on the head……it’s a MONEY RACE, not a race to help the people. The problems of the average citizen, and there are many in New Mexico, are not solved by this race for money. Why has it become all about the money?
