Dear family of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Remember if all images do not show up on your email CUP go to FGGAM.ORG    www,fggam.org

Thank you for stopping by for a CUP!

How are you today? How are you and the Lord getting along?

Are you living a life that pleases God? Remember a clear conscience, is a soft pillow!

Once again, thanks to Kelly Snelgrove for filling in for me yesterday.

I told you I had a surprise for you! Kelly is an outstanding women of God!  You may have another surprise on Saturday! We will see what the Lord does! Amen!

Click on this link below and read an outstanding devotional by John Piper. It is called, ‘Suffering That Strengthens” My Dear friend Paul Dokken called my attention to it.depression

WOW! Paul the Apostle is my hero, he tasted the pit of hell and was made new by God, and became one of God’s greatest! I have tasted the pit of hell and then I found Jesus Christ, Amen! As I read this devotional I felt I was sitting right next to Paul, and my whole attention was on him and what he endured. If the world could just grasp the life of Paul……and what God did in his life. For me the life of Paul came alive in this devotional……..as it dies in the Bible.

Let me share with you one more thing on this……it is taken from the book, ‘Master Life’ by Avery T. Willis Jr. with my comments mixed in!

Remember, you cannot reason with a fool, the Bible teaches us that……Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. Proverbs 26:4

When I speak of the ‘natural mind,’ I’m referring to the thinking process that is limited to human reason and resources. Human history shows that the natural mind becomes progressively self-destructive if left to its own desires. People who are directed by their natural minds walk in the darkness and have incorrect thinking. (Don’t you see it all around you!) It is rampant in our country, in our government, schools, homes and EVEN IN OUR CHURCHES!

“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts” Eph. 4:17,18

Do not be surprised of these things when you come upon someone in the dark.

Please read this post I did early this morning at FGGAM.ORG:

Bernalillo County Deputy: “It Is Very Violent And Too Many People Will Not Admit It”

We got this awesome letter………

Hi Dewey,

A thousand thanks and praises to our heavenly Father for running Dawn’s testimony the other day. While my life has not been as dramatic nor testimony as powerful as hers, still I have been doing things that destroy my body and spirit as well as my wallet. I am inspired to pray the prayer of Dawn to my Father.

A righteous woman I know once declared that addictions are the devil’s way of destroying certain spiritual gifts that the addict has. I surely believe that.is true.

Again, thanks for the effort that you put into to get the Daily Cup out each day.

And congratulations on the 2nd anniversary of FGGAM. May it grow and prosper under our Father’s mighty hand.

Sincerely yours,
Jim Hofflander Mankato, Minnesota

Thank you for blessing us with your kind words Jim!

Wisdom for the Weary

Paul Holt shared this at FGGAM.ORG……….’What Does The Bible Say About The Future Of Gaza’

Joel Richardson has tremendous insight into prophetic events. He is the author of two books I highly recommend to all believers, Mideast Beast: The Scriptural Case for an Islamic Antichrist and The Islamic Antichrist: The Shocking Truth about the Real Nature of the Beast.
Here is an excerpt from an article he wrote recently regarding what the scripture says about the current Gaza conflict. -Pastor Paul Holt

Jerusalem

by Joel Richardson

As the focus of the world is now fixed on the Gaza Strip, students of the Bible would do well to stop to consider what the ancient Hebrew prophets had to say about the future of this little piece of land. Let’s consider a few passages. First, according to the Scriptures, the return of Jesus and the subsequent judgment will largely revolve around what the prophet Isaiah referred to as, “the legal cause,” or “the controversy of Zion”:

For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion. (Isaiah 34:8)

No doubt, today the “controversy of Zion” rages throughout the nations, as the state of Israel seeks to crush the Gaza-governing Hamas, a group with the stated goal of exterminating the Jewish people and setting up their capital in Jerusalem.

According to several prophets, the controversy will only intensify as we draw closer to the return of Jesus, when a vast coalition of nations will invade Israel and surround the city of Jerusalem, seeking to commit the final genocide against the Jewish people. The prophet Joel tells us that the Lord will execute judgment against all parties involved in this invasion, and specifically any who force the dividing of His land:

I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land. (Joel 3:2)

Jehoshaphat is the valley that runs north to south, between the Temple Mount, and the Mount of Olives. In Matthew 25, as Jesus was actually sitting on the Mount of Olives looking down at the Valley of Jehoshaphat, He declared that when He returns, He Himself will sit as the judge of the nations. He declared that He would judge the nations specifically based on how they treated his “brethren.” It is clear that Jesus was harkening back to Joel 3, actually inserting Himself into the passage as YHVH, the divine Judge. We must also note that Joel also informs us that the judgment will be based on how the nations treated “My people and My inheritance, Israel” and also on their having, “divided up My land.”

As the prophecy continues, it goes on to speak of the Lord specifically executing vengeance against those from the regions of Lebanon and Gaza who have engaged in violence against the people of Israel:

What are you to Me, O Tyre, Sidon (Lebanon) and all the regions of Philistia (Gaza)? Are you rendering Me a recompense? But if you do recompense Me, swiftly and speedily I will return your recompense on your head. (Joel 3:4)

Where it says “Tyre, Sidon,” and “the regions of Philistia” one could nearly insert Hezbollah and Hamas. It is nearly pulled from today’s headlines.

The prophecy, of course, is not speaking of every single inhabitant of Lebanon and Gaza. The specific emphasis of the prophecy is on those who have sought out “violence” to “shed innocent blood” in the land of Judah:

Edom (shall become) a desolate wilderness, because of violence against the people of Judah, for they have shed innocent blood in their land. But Judah will be inhabited forever And Jerusalem for all generations. And I will avenge their blood which I have not avenged, for the LORD dwells in Zion. (Joel 3:19-21)

Like Joel, so also does the prophet Ezekiel reveal that Jesus will come back to execute judgment against those who embrace and foment the “ancient hatred” directed toward the Jewish people and shed the blood of “the children of Israel”:

“Because you have had an ancient hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the power of the sword at the time of their calamity … therefore, as I live,” says the Lord GOD, “I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you. (Ezekiel 35:5-7) (emphasis mine)

While it is clear that Jesus passionately loves all peoples and is grieved over the loss of innocent life on both sides of the present conflict, the Scriptures are also painfully clear that when He comes back, because of the aforementioned violence and hatred, the region of Gaza will be devastated. The prophet Zephaniah, in specifically speaking of the Day of the Lord, warns the inhabitants of Gaza to repent; “Seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’S anger.” Then comes a very stark description of what lies ahead for Gaza when Jesus returns:

For Gaza will be abandoned. … Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of the LORD is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines; and I will destroy you so that there will be no inhabitant. So the seacoast will be pastures, with caves for shepherds and folds for flocks. And the coast will be for the remnant of the house of Judah, they will pasture on it. In the houses of Ashkelon they will lie down at evening; For the LORD their God will care for them and restore their fortune. (Zephaniah 2:4-7)

Thank you Pastor Paul!

For God’s Glory Alone in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ, Dewey, Sharon, Family and FGGAM Team

Let us keep praying for each other and our families

Remember to keep these folks in your prayers…………

prayerDear Friends of Our Lord Jesus Christ,

Prayer…
Prayer is the essence of the Spiritual life without which all ministry loses its meaning. It is the fulfillment of the great commandment to love the Lord with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind…..To pray is to unite ourselves with Jesus and lift up the whole world through Him to God in a cry of forgiveness, reconciliation, healing, and mercy….Most of all, prayer is the way to become and remain part of Jesus mission to draw all people to the intimacy of God’s love.” by Henri Nouwen, The Only Necessary Thing: Living a Prayerful Life

We come together in prayer over these needs………….

From FGGAM Board Member Kathy Garcia:

Have a prayer need. Not sure if you ever met Ken Fitch who is a board member of
Legacy? His wife a mentor and spiritual mother and friend of mine has had a
massive stroke. Completely paralyzed on the right side, can’t talk or eat and
not sure if she is able to understand what is going on around her. I love this
woman so much, she had been a part of my life along with her husband for almost
30 years. Please have your prayer line pray for her husband to be able to make
right decisions for Martha and for his broken heart.

We are praying healing over Martha….peace and strength for both Martha and Ken, in Jesus name, Amen!

We now go into prayer for Jerry Hardin………..

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to call me, text me, send me Facebook messages, pray for me and visit me during my time in the hospital. The surgery today was successful, but, I will remain in the hospital for another 5 days and, after that, it will take another 4 weeks for me to recooperate. So, I will still be out of commission for awhile. . It’s great to know that I have the best friends in the world. I appreciate it more than you’ll ever know. Thanks again.

I’m at Presbyterian Hospital, Room 353, in Albuquerque.

We pray healing over Jerry, a speedy recovery, in Jesus name, Amen!

A note From Pastor Richard Mansfield of New Beginnings Church in Albuquerque……..

Thank you for all your prayers, love and support. Everything went well. There were six lesions that were benign. Two lesions that were cancerous. I will get the results next week as to what kind of cancer. Thank you again for your prayers.

We pray NO CANCER over Pastor Richard, in Jesus name, Amen!

As we shared the other day, FGGAM news reporter Rick Stambaugh’s brother David underwent heart bypass surgery in Dallas…..here is a follow up..PRAISE GOD!

This morning, Wednesday, July 30, 2014 I issued a prayer request which
was passed through many different outlets for my brother David Stambaugh
and Pastor Dewey also requested prayer in ‘The Cup’ this morning.

My brother David is a retired Dallas Fire Department firefighter and
paramedic and was going through a heart bypass operation where odds were
not on his side.

I’m pleased to announce the surgery has apparently been a success and
that this evening, my brother is doing well, (or as well as you can be
following that major a surgery!), and is resting peacefully in the
hospital. Doctor’s are projecting that me might be well enough to even
go home by Saturday or Sunday depending on how fast he can recover his
strength!

On David’s behalf I want to thank all who put him up in prayer today!!!
Prayers placed his surgery directly in the Lord’s hands and the Lord so
obviously guided the surgeons hands during this rather major surgery!!!

Again, I thank all my Prayer Warrior friends out there for all your
thoughts and prayers!!!

God Bless to ALL,
Rick Stambaugh

Thanks for the PRAISE report Rick!

We love our family here at the Daily CUP!

Thank you for joining us in prayer!
