Dear Family of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Greetings, this is Kelly Snelgrove and I am a writer for the Inspiration page at FGGAM.org. I will be filling in at the CUP today for Pastor Dewey Moede. We lift up his family as his Uncle Wayne Caraway, 91, of Windom, Minnesota went home to be with the Lord. Please pray for Wayne’s wife Doris.  Pastor Dewey has shared that his Uncle Wayne lived a great life and had been a farmer all his years. Please pray for Uncle Wayne’s daughter Barb and her husband Rick and the entire  family. They also lost their 25 year old daughter Tiffany to a tragic motorcycle accident in Sturgis, South Dakota one year ago.

How are you today?  We are praying for you and yours.

I pray you will be blessed today as I was blessed by one of His moments that reminds my heart of His Love and of His Word.

IMG_0069This is my Martha Washington Geranium which barely survived a severe summer hailstorm. She took quite a beating from the wind and hail. Her leaves were sheared off and her flowerpot shattered, leaving her roots exposed to the freezing elements that struck her. I gathered her up and brought her inside; carefully trimming off what was broken and replanting her in a rich soil. Over the winter months branches and leaves began to grow. They were very fragile, weak and could so easily be broken off. When spring arrived I placed her back outside. With sunlight and being well watered, her branches broadened and she became stronger, fuller and brighter in color. For the first time since the storm ~she bloomed~ and ever so beautifully.

As I look upon my geranium today, I am reminded of how tenderly and lovingly God cares for us when we face life’s unexpected storms. A broken heart may be from a failed relationship, loss of a loved one or beloved pet. It may be from a crushed spirit from distress, disappointment or defeat. God’s love never fails when His people cry out to Him. While an unbeliever may sense a waning intensity of heartbreak, those who belong to Christ must know that God loves them unconditionally. Imagine the grief God the Father endured as He witnessed the crucifixion of His Son on the cross. It is this amazing, unconditional love for us that God will comfort and heal by His grace our broken hearts and restore the joy and peace of our salvation.  He alone heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Ps 147:3

“The LORD looks at the heart.” 1Sa 16:7

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Ps 34:18

“I have loved you with an everlasting love.” Jer 31:3

“Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.” Ps 50:15

Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Ps 55:22

He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. Ps 147:3

God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Heb 13:5

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?  Ro 8:32

He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Ps 107:20

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Pr 3:5-6

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 1Pe 2:24

Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good. 1Pe 4:19

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isa 41:10

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1Co 13:7

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. Jn 14:27

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2Co 1:3-4

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.  He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.  He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Rev 21:3-4

God will do it. That is a sweet thought. ‘He healeth the broken in heart;’ he WILL do it. Nobody else can; nobody else may; but he WILL. Is thy heart broken? He WILL heal it; he is sure to heal it; for it is written—and it can never be altered, for what was true three thousand years ago, is true now—he healeth the broken in heart.”
C.H. Spurgeon

Your most profound and intimate experiences of worship will likely be in your darkest days – when your heart is broken, when you feel abandoned, when you’re out of options, when the pain is great – and you turn to God alone.”
Rick Warren

We want to avoid suffering, death, sin, ashes. But we live in a world crushed and broken and torn, a world God Himself visited to redeem. We receive his poured-out life, and being allowed the high privilege of suffering with Him, may then pour ourselves out for others.”
Elisabeth Elliot

Leave the broken, irreversible past in God’s hands, and step out into the invincible future with Him.”
Oswald Chambers
